The Hing Hoy Are Hinging And Hoying

Yes, the excitement in Chiangrai has been running high what with the starting of leech season and all...but get ready folks cause it just went up a notch or two....because....the hing hoy (fire flies) are out cruising around the rice paddy starting just after sundown until....who knows how late these party animals can keep it up?

When do the black crabs come out?

Mang Pawm, mang waow... what's the difference? I'm assuming the smaller, whitish ones eventually grow into the great, dangerous black things

but am amazed if they're really the same species as i used to pour out of my shoes in Arizona!

Don't know about the freaking hing hoy but it's bug night to night. Especially the smelly ones
