Dual OVER pricing still active in Krabi

Especially now I would expect them to offer dual pricing everywhere there's an attraction.   Because everyone are <deleted> poor due to the pandemic.

You cant compare a nationalist/racist dual price to local discounts in USA. Any Thai person who moves to Florida even for a short time like a college student can easily get a local ID card or drivers license. Then they will get a local discount. Instantly have every right under law as a citizen except to vote. So where on the scale does Florida sit on discrimination compared to Thailand again?

No idea, that's why I was asking the question. 

 

As for the dual pricing in Thailand, as they say "up to you", personally I vote with my wallet (as I do in other parts of the world where dual pricing isn't  unique to Thailand as people want to make out).

You’ve missed the whole point with a somewhat apologist response.

 

There is no reasonable excuse whatsoever for charging foreigners additional fee’s - its simply distasteful.

 

- The amount is completely irrelevant.

- The excuse that foreigners can theoretically afford more is flawed, plenty of wealthy Thai’s.

- The excuse that Thai’s pay tax is flawed, plenty of foreigners do pay taxes.

- The excuse that is also happens in other countries is flawed, local residents discounts apply to any resident and are not based on nationality.

 

I have yet to see one reasonable or acceptable argument in favour of charging foreigners excess fees for anything, in Thailand or any other country (outside of educational establishments).

 

Recently upon entering Koh Samet I was charged the Thai price with a Pink ID. Fair enough, but I still think its outrageous that a place which wants to attract as many tourists as possible practices dual pricing for foreigners.

Why ???? Why should you or any foreigner pay 2x (or any more, or less) than a Thai ??? 

 

There is no reason or excuse which justifies any additional charge whatsoever.

From my experience seems the prices at most of these places are clearly posted, as in your photo.

I would suggest you visit '2price thailand' site, you will see numerous cases where the lower Thai price is in Thai script and foreigner price is in english at up to 10 times more.

Don't go, simple.  There are plenty of other nice places in Thailand to spend your money. I stopped going anywhere near the south of the country years ago after being constantly ripped off by the greedy locals.
