I never said he was not a crook. I also never said the current batch are not crooks, and only time to hopefully tell the extent of it. All politicians are crooks. Some help the masses while they are stealing, and some don't. I am not glorifying Thaksin. But the facts are the facts. He helped millions of people, and remains loved to this day, for his actions. Universal health care was, and is a very big deal for poor Thais. It changed their lives dramatically.

Don't gloat.... many may have lost income but they are still sitting on parcels of land that command very serious money.

The main reason Thaksin was ousted was because he was too popular and was becoming more powerful than some who should of been doing a better job...... ( Careful, deep water in this area )  Nothing to do with corruption, more jealousy than anything else, that's why the individuals in green fill their trousers every time his name's mentioned because they all know that deep down most Thais want him back...... Most Farangs as well......  I've seen a lot of PMs, he was the best out of the lot, and probably in Thai history.......

Why?  Hundreds of thousands of people over the years have had great times there in Walking Street. Pattaya is a unique city and Walking Street made it so. Ship sailed. Nothing lasts forever. I used to go to a nightclub young. It made more money than any. Then table tops opened. They made millions. It ended up closed down by the government. Revoked license. To many issues affecting the community. Gone shop shut.  Was swift and sharp with no remorse.
