Photo: PPHO PHUKET: Foreigners exiting a 14-day quarantine in Bangkok after testing negative for COVID-19 are not required to complete another 14-day quarantine after arriving in Phuket, the Phuket health chief has confirmed. However, such foreigners must present evidence that they have cleared quarantine in Bangkok and must travel directly to Phuket after being released, Dr Thanit Sermkaew, Chief of the Phuket Provincial Public Health Office (PPHO), told The Phuket News today (Jan 12). “All foreigners who have already completed a 14-day quarantine in Alternative State Quarantine [ASQ] hotels from ‘red zone’ areas [highest risk provinces] and wanting to travel to Phuket are not required to complete a 14-day quarantine again after arriving in Phuket,” Dr Thanit said. sallecc
At least some sort of sense... But let's hope this part goes smoothly: “But they must present a certificate or document... signed by the government official who is assigned to oversee the quarantine at the ASQ hotel" My girlfriend will do BKK ASQ then to Phuket next month... Hope everything goes well.
sammieuk1
There could be a perpetual ASQ loop opportunity that's now gone missing wait until someone thinks about it for 5 seconds more ????
spidermike007
It is likely the tourism officials in Phuket are celebrating, knowing 28 days of quarantine is not required for a 6 week trip. Big help guys. Thanks.
natway09
But on arrival their means of transport should be checked. A 10 hour mini van journey with another infected person could be disastrous for all

A 10 hour mini van journey with another infected person could be disastrous for all As far as I’m aware they have to go directly to the airport and get on a flight and the taxi has to fill out a tracking form saying they took you etc . If you go by taxi to Pattaya etc also you have to do the same and book a taxi who has to sign a form etc . In samui you arrive by plane and have to download an app and if wanting to go around you also need get a COVID test at a hospital and after that you are free to wander but need login to the app for 14 days I think .
