Are Grab Taxi allowed now to pick up passengers from Chiang Mai airport?

Previously, Grab could drop off but rarely pick up.......

Thanks.

They are allowed, but with the reception they will receive from the airport taxi ranks, many will not.

Rates to Doi Saket are similar, so I just use the airport taxi.

Just took them from CNX a week ago.  Was slightly less than a taxi and parked right up at the exit to the airport.  Did not have any kind of sticker or logo that showed Grab.  You ID the vehicle by license plate and car description.

I've taken Grab from the airport 5 times over the past 3 or 4 months and never had an issue. They pull up at Door 2 or 3 and pick me up looking exactly like any other driver coming to pick up a friend. The drop off is the same. Zero issues.

The last time I was in Chiang Mai was three years ago so no current info.  I did take a Grab taxi to the airport but used regular taxi mafia when I arrived.

While in Chiang Mai I only used Grab taxi.  They were pretty quick in arriving and much cheaper than the regular taxis.

I alwayd catch a Grab to the airport but book it to drop me off 100m before the entrance, I save 80-100 baht by doing this.

On arrival I now use the CM bus service for 20 baht fixed price (now 30 baht I believe).
