Trump says 25th amendment is 'zero risk to me'

Section 4 of the  25th Amendment is not a "new way" . It is only that it has never been invoked before!

I do not understand why Pence is so reticent . Trump and Co. were happy to watch the mob actively  hunting through the Capitol for him expressing  the aim of killing him and  others as a means to destroy the constitutional established seat of Government . Had that been achieved who knows what Trump's actions would have been. IMO  Pence  could easily  justify  invoking  Section 4 citing derangement causing a psychological incapacity to  function according to the Presidential  Oath of Office.

In a letter to Speaker Pelosi vp pence declines to invoke the 25th....

It will be blood on Pence's hands and conscience if deadly incidents happened between now and 20th Jan. Trump still has the power and the incumbency to be a danger as President.

Are there any crazy people who realize that they are crazy?

Sure, there are, but psychopaths are evidently the only class of the mentally ill who never seek treatment on their own, because they are content with their instrumental relationships with all other people.  Certainly fits Trump.

Now that the McConnell and Cheney have turned against Trump, Pence has more political cover to invoke the 25th Amendment.  But he won't do it out of fear of Trump's supporters.  McConnell isn't interested in the 25th Amendment, because it wouldn't disqualify Trump from future office, which is his main concern.

"The impeachment hoax is a continuation of the greatest and most vicious witch hunt in the history of our country and is causing tremendous anger and division and pain, far greater than most people will ever understand, which is very dangerous for the USA, especially at this very tender time," he also said.

and who caused this?

Pence just said he no longer supports invoking the 25th.  Probably because impeachment proceedings are moving very fast and McConnell has indicated his support for this.  As a way to rid the GOP of Trump! LOL

He's just trying to stay clear of this mess so he won't upset Trumps voter base, so Pence still has a chance to run for president in 4 years.

If he supported the 25th I think he could forget everything about running for president.

So it's no surprise he tries to wiggle his way out of this tricky situation.

If he had a pair he would just throw away Trump, but he's a politician and they do what politicians do best, and that's a worldwide problem.

It is likely Trump is right. Not much is going to happen in a weeks time. But the reality is that Trump is a huge risk to the nation. I think after the DC riots, the national security agencies should have figured out a way to lock him up until the 20th, then usher him back to Florida in handcuffs.

What he still does not seem to realize, is that most of his income, and most of his loans (which he appears to have been surviving on for some time), are corporate, and the corporate world has written him off as too great a liability. His name was already radioactive. Now? Nobody will touch him, and his the future of his businesses looks very bleak.

See ya Don. You will not be missed. You are a human wrecking ball, and destroy everything you touch.

“You can either go down in history as a patriot or you can go down in history as a pussy,” Trump told Pence, pressuring VP to overturn the election (which he didn’t actually have the power to do).

Pence Reached His Limit With Trump. It Wasn’t Pretty.

After four years of tongue-biting silence that critics say enabled the president’s worst instincts, the vice president would not yield to the pressure and name-calling from his boss.

He may not be removed from Office but this is just another nail in the coffin of Trump's legacy .  History  books are written by the Victors so it should be interesting to see what final epithet sticks to the Supreme Narcissist .

,

Unlike the Mad king or  the Impaler or the Butcher  Trump is a clownish buffoon . In fact his nickname in New York society circles is "the Barking Clown" . I suspect he is so unremarkable that no nickname will stick because  "the Twitter President " will not stand the test of time .   "Donald the Rapist ' , " Donald McDonald " .  Perhaps the closest descripter would be "Don the Con" because when all is said and done he is the greatest con man in American History .  That doesn't make him smart but just reveals how half of America is in on the con or are too dim witted to see the truth .

I like the name I see on Reddit quite often, mafia related
