Triple T Broadband or 3BB have reassured customers that their financial details and ID numbers have not been stolen.

This came after the company became aware they had been hacked in an extortion attempt that could affect their 8 million customers.

The company admitted that some data may have been stolen such as membership numbers, phone numbers, email addresses and dates of birth, reported Thai PBS.

But as soon as the company noticed suspicious activity, access to more sensitive data was shut down.

Consequently details such as credit card numbers, financial transactions and information such as Thai ID numbers were not compromised, they claimed.

The hack was first revealed by tech site databreaches.net who had the following advice for 3BB customers: If you were a 3BB customer and you reused passwords across sites or businesses, DataBreaches.net strongly recommends you change all of your passwords to use unique passwords for every site.
