OneeyedJohn 1611
For me I find Makro very inconsistent, they have something in stock one day, and the next they don't.
PGSan 467
How many Makros are there in Phuket? And what is the size range?

He has a fair point especially if only 1 macro in your area, you cannot rely on everything one week being there next!

herfiehandbag 4795
Makro, like all the other supermarkets, will only stock lines which they know they can sell relatively quickly. Sourcing, buying, transporting, distributing and storing all costs, (and those costs are much greater if the goods have to be imported) and eats into the profits. If fhey don't sell enough to make a profit then they won't stock them. Maybe you will have to turn to one of the specialist western butchers who advertise here? Expensive I know but there you are. I've only been here for around thirty years but very quickly I learned that if any item that I regularly consumed had a tendency to sell out quickly, I would make sure I bought extra quantities when it was available. It's not rocket surgery. Or, you can carry on with the asinine gurning on internet forums about the poor stock control at [insert Thai retail outlet of your choice here] untill the cows come home.

Makro, the AirAsia of Thailand's food and household goods retailers. "Now everyone can shop" PS: For those that blame their purchasing failures on Makro's stock control, there's a reason why they only provide large shopping carts and not shopping baskets.
