Popular Post British Consular Team
Here is the update from Consular team during our first two weeks in 2021. We started the year with some good news from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as Nicky Hood, our Honorary Consul in Surat Thani, has been granted an official accreditation. Find out more about what support she and other Honorary Consuls can provide at this post: https://forum.thaivisa.com/topic/1178535-so-where-are-the-honorary-consuls-and-what-services-can-they-perform/ and how to contact them here: https://forum.thaivisa.com/topic/1187019-how-to-contact-the-british-embassy%E2%80%99s-honorary-consuls/ Back to operational updates. The team has provided 50 notarial services and emergency help to 33 British nationals since the start of the year. Many required support and advice for their welfare during the new Covid-19 outbreak, but we also dealt with hospitalisations, missing persons, and deaths. We always receive a lot of enquiries about Covid-19 vaccination and we really appreciate how important it is to have the right information. As it stands there are plans for the NHS to roll out a vaccination program to priority groups across the UK in the coming weeks and months. However, there is no indication at this time that this program will be extended to British nationals currently overseas. As soon as we have further updates, we will let you know in this forum and on our Travel Advice page. Quick reminder, if you are planning to return to the UK, you must have proof of a negative COVID-19 test before travelling. More details about requirement can be found here and you can sign up to receive email alerts: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-testing-for-people-travelling-to-england If you have any questions about our services, feel free to ask us in the Q&A section. We also look forward to your suggestions on what we should cover in our next update. 2
mfd101
Almost certainly the same will apply - perfectly sensibly - for expats of every other country. No embassy anywhere in the world is going to play doctors 'n nurses for its expats. Get used to it! 1
Jonathan Fairfield
Off topic replies removed. This topic is about the recent activities of the Consular Team It has nothing to do with frozen British pensions - for which almost certainly has nothing to do with the British Embassy in Bangkok!
