Malaysia has been hit by a severe outbreak of Covid-19, with new cases rising by around 4,000 per day. Thirteen Thais stranded in Malaysia returned to Thailand on Wednesday and underwent screening and quarantine as per Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration measures. The border is closed except for returnees and the passage of freight. Danok and Golok are ghost towns.
