IMO a lot of them went over the edge about 5 years ago...:coffee1:

Hopefully they dragged a good number of QAnon with them.

I'd like to think (hope) flat-earthers do what they do as a kind mental challenge, a puzzle, a challenge to the orthodoxy ......so just lunatics like QAnon and your average Trump supporter.

Q has to be a 90's movie geek.

WHITE SQUALL (1996) - WWG1WGA 'Where we go one  we go all'

FEAR AND LOATHING IN LAS VEGAS (1998) Adrenochrome dousing by Depp and his attorney. Q used it as the nefarious reason for child abductions by the liberal Hollywood elite. WT Heck?! If it works I guess. Of course, it is made up according to man who wrote the book; Hunter S Thompson. ‘Adrenechrome does not work, I just tossed it in'.

Sasse says QAnon 'destroying the GOP' in new op-ed

Sen. Ben Sasse, R-Neb., said the QAnon conspiracy theory is "destroying the GOP from within" and called out House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and newly elected Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene in an op-ed Saturday.

"Until last week, many party leaders and consultants thought they could preach the Constitution while winking at QAnon," Sasse wrote in The Atlantic. "They can't."

Comey is probably right, the GOP needs to start over.

Obviously all the qanon fans must have a very limited mind.

But that is nothing new in the USA.

"Forty percent of U.S. adults ascribe to a strictly creationist view of human origins, believing that God created them in their present form within roughly the past 10,000 years."

https://news.gallup.com/poll/261680/americans-believe-creationism.aspx

And 55-60% of Republicans depending on the poll concerned.

I guess a core of them are 'cumulating': creationism + pizzagate + Qanon + enrich millionaire preachers + Trumps fraud scam, etc...

Mormons, Jehova Witnesses , Seventh day adventists , The Waco siege etc etc

The desire to find some wacky alternative religion to succumb to seems to be an abiding passion in the USA so I can well believe that a lot of people there have mental health issues on account of their gullibility.

Not just in the US. In my teens, I was briefly (well, not that briefly—over eight months) enticed into Jehova’s Witnesses. There were people from all walks of life and all income levels. The member whose home we met at was a multi millionaire. My best friend at the time (and today still my best friend) often tried to pull me out. I once mentioned to the minister under whom I studied the bible about this and his response was for me to ditch my friend. At that moment, something snapped into place in my head. My friend never threatened to abandon me if I didn’t ditch the church. But this guy, this minister of peace, his first suggestion was for me to ditch my friend. I walked out of there and never looked back.

Hopefully for some—dare I hope, many?—of these Q guys a sharp jab of awakening can lift the fog long enough for some sanity, some clear thinking, to prevail. Among some I know, it has happened over the last week. There is hope.

I read on another blog that Q was originally a pig farmer from the Philippines (not sure what nationality) and the whole thing started as a 'joke' on a chan site.

It is, in fact, the son of the pig farmer (he's an American living in the Philippines) who is the prime suspect for being Q

They're not all reeling.  After all, their saviour sent them a message during his farewell address:

"But while some QAnon disciples gave way to doubt, others doubled down on blind belief or strained to see new coded messages in the Inauguration Day’s events. Some followers noted that 17 flags — Q being the 17th letter of the alphabet — flew on the stage as Trump delivered a farewell address.

“17 flags! come on now this is getting insane,” said one post on a QAnon forum devoted to the “Great Awakening,” the quasi-biblical name for QAnon’s utopian end times. “I don’t know how many signs has to be given to us before we ‘trust the plan,’” one commenter said."

As Trump era ends, QAnon believers grapple with doubt - The Washington Post

Any comment on the intelligence, or lack thereof, of these people is superfluous.

Well one superfluous comment from me:  That WP article is excellent - pity it's behind a paywall (limited articles per month) - I've saved it to a PDF to send to friends.

Among them was Ron Watkins, who was among a small group of movement leaders who stepped up their public activity after Trump's loss in the Nov. 3 election, as the "drops" from Q slowed and then stopped.

The longtime administrator of 8kun, an unmoderated forum where Q posted alongside violent extremists and racists, Watkins adopted the cryptic tone of Q in the past two months on Twitter and then Telegram.

Ron Watkins is the son of Q, Jim Watkins, the long time owner of  8 chan. Before it was known as the site of Qanon, Watkins Snr. ran it as the home of well known paedophile sites in the Philippines where he owned a pig farm. Around a year ago he was told to leave the Philippines and never return. He returned to his native USA.

Some die-hards are still hanging on. Saying the "military" is in charge now, and just waiting for mike flynn's brother Lt. Gen. Charles A. Flynn, to stage a military coup.

gen flynn is said to have been on the call with the Captiol Police as they requested help from the Pentagon. Awkward.

And JFK Jr will finally appear.

Where they go one they go all, like lemmings off a cliff.
