Sophon Cable TV reported in Facebook that the lockdown in Koh Larn was now over.

Authorities on the holiday island shut it down from January 5th to Wednesday.

Yesterday there were 154 people boarding ferries. Some 90% were island residents and the rest were tourists.

Ferries leave Bali Hai at 7, noon and 3.30 and return at 7, 9.30, noon and 5pm.

Protocols are in place for Covid -19

screening.

Two ferries also go to Tawaen beach leaving Pattaya at 9am returning 3pm.

Most of the accommodation on the island remains shut though they have been permitted to open.

So, open the island to tourists, of which there are none, which also opens the island to the virus, of which there is some.  Makes perfect sense.  ????

Virus have been on earth forever and they will continue to be here forever including Pattaya and Koh larn....So why worry about it.....Look what happened to Howard Hughes..

domestic tourists are none?

Opening the island and having the surrounding province on the list of deep red "MAXIMUM CONTROLLED AREAS" does not help much. A few happy expats living in Pattaya can now enjoy a near voided Ko Lan. Do it before the Chinese friends come back.

But they're not really controlled are they.....

But yes now would be about the best time to visit.

I was in Krabi November and it was fantastic, no one about and very clean water.......thinking about heading back in Feb for a week.

The Pattaya News posted this on Facebook....

Breaking- The Chonburi Provincial Administrative Organization President has just posted on his social media account, Wittaya Khunplume, that the Chonburi Provincial Communicable Disease Committee is planning to present to the government changing Chonburi to an orange zone and not a deep red zone due to improvement in Covid19 cases. This would mean relief of many measures.
He said please wait for further announcements from the Communicable Disease Committee. It is unclear if this would be sooner than the end of the month but may be possible.

Well actually I had hopes the rest of town might get opened up a few days before next month, but that is fading. Koh Larn.... the ugly memories of what it became keep me away now.

Hopefully when my daughter is back at school we shall go for the day. It's quite nice now without mass tourists not quite as good as it used to be as they have built some jetty's and other things on some of the beaches and ruined them, pick the right beach very nice. Navy beaches in Sattahip which are also nice are still closed, maybe open in February.
