Foreign Food Shop in Pattaya

Recommended Posts

There seems to be growth in small foreign food shops in Pattaya. People used to trek to the dark side to shop at Siamburys, then recently Nadia opened a foreign food outlet on Soi Bonnet. More recently a new place has opened in Jomtien near the Golden  Hanuman/ Gudwara statue and another has opened off Soi 4 in Pratumnak. Good news indeed for those requiring 5 kilos of baked beans or slabs of black pudding.

Yes they are all over now, good.  Try the Villa Market on Second Road, also very good. TOPS must be hurting, due to their pricing policy on western goods, many of them branded as Waitrose, the most expensive supermarket in the UK. I never shop there now.

I've been pleasantly surprised that the places selling foreign food all seem to have prospered since the pandemic started. I thought they might have been quite dependent on foreign tourists, at least during the winter months, and that the expat population wouldn't be enough to keep them all going, but happily I was wrong. Siamburi's is going from strength to strength, and even the Big C is keeping well-stocked with Casino and other foreign goodies. There's also been no reduction that I've noticed in the amount and quality of farang bread being baked fresh daily. From the viewpoint of availability of foreign foods, Pattaya is better than ever, pandemic or not.

Siamburi's have also added an online ordering option extending to all parts of Thailand.

I had seen many requests for such a service on their facebook page so it should prove popular. Delivery within Pattaya is free if the order is over Bt1,500, so that should assist those with limited transport options or are unwilling to venture to the Darkside.

Turn in from 3rd rd opposite (ex) Xzite and then left.

Don't take the wrong one to Love Inn  (and the "clubs").
