gingerandtabby
I am elderly so have decided I need to down-grade to a tricycle from my beloved motorcycle ????. My bones have turned to eggshells. ???? :-(. I am looking, ideally, for a used one. Ideally electric. If not used, where can I get a new one?
jonwilly
I normally see at least one a week around town. They are conventional 2 wheel bikes with a local conversion done. I will ask the Thai guy who looks after my bikes/scooter where these conversions get done. john Edited January 25, 2021 by jonwilly

I did a Google search and came up with several sites https://www.desertcart.co.th/products/205619328-addmotor-motan-electric-tricycle-24-inch-fat-tire-electric-trike-3-big-wheel-750w-rear-basket-cargo-ebikes-16ah-lithium-battery-for-adults-seniors-m-350-p7-bicycle-cruise-with-suspension-fork https://www.desertcart.co.th/search/Addmotor Motan Electric very expensive these are https://www.google.co.uk/search?biw=1229&bih=578&sxsrf=ALeKk037vXoFR67Ac4epzY3KbHq6e1lRsA%3A1611555945541&ei=aWQOYMDQIITUsAf1lbyADg&q=3+wheel+electric+scooter+thailand&oq=3+wheel+electric+scooter+thailand&gs_lcp=CgZwc3ktYWIQDFAAWABggndoAHABeACAAQCIAQCSAQCYAQCqAQdnd3Mtd2l6&sclient=psy-ab&ved=0ahUKEwiAqa3dubbuAhUEKuwKHfUKD-AQ4dUDCAw I also did a search on Lazada here. https://www.lazada.co.th/catalog/?q=electric+tricycles&_keyori=ss&from=input&spm=a2o4m.home.search.go.1814719cCDnPdz

uptoyoumyfriend
I have a similar interest and have looked at many products that are either electric bicycles or wheelchairs. That's why I decided to build my own from motorbike parts like honda dream.just one seat and about 100kg cargo max. 80km/he topspeed. The reason I am looking at your post is that I am looking for people with experience or interest in creative stuff. Especially the electric part is new to me but it is the point of it. jackdd
How fast does it have to go and where do you plan to ride it? Many Big C are selling small electric bikes, with two as well as three wheels, not expensive, 30k or so. But I would assume that they have a top speed of maybe 25km/h. If you want to go faster than this you would probably have to get one running with fuel. The ones sold in Big C are not street legal and can't be made street legal. Others could maybe be registered as Tuktuk, but I think I've read somewhere that foreigners can't get a driving license for Tuktuks. If you live in some village or just use it in small sois around your home, that probably doesn't matter, but if you planned to ride it around the moat, this would be a problem. Put this into Google image search, this gives you some ideas what exists: สามล้อ The easiest option (as in availability and legality) would probably be a motorcycle with a sidecar. Then the monkeys have to tell you what's wrong with your bike when you go get the tax sticker. Otherwise there are too many hurdles
jackdd
I found this guy through Google, he shows his tricycle: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=srGzxPiY_no From the color of the license plate we can tell that it's registered as tricycle (Tuktuk) and not as motorcycle. So maybe it is possible to get a Thai driving license for it as foreigner? You should ask at your local DLT.
ChouDoufu
you can get add-on kits, "training wheels", easy bolt-on adds non-driven wheels to each side of your existing bike. https://artinmotionllc.net/training-wheels/ Edited January 26, 2021 by ChouDoufu
