Oh and never expect me or my family to visit your Covid 19 country ever again

Bit harsh, as with anything like this, it's the government not the people (on the whole anyway). It's like others saying the same about the USA given the recent experiment.

But building military bases on islands/building islands for military bases in water that doesn't belong to you or flying military aircraft into airspace you don't have jurisdiction over is?

And sending subdrones into Australian waters is OK as well

Just wondering.  What are all my fellow Western expats planning to do if the US-China tension in the South China Sea and Taiwan Strait suddenly goes "hot" in the next 4 or 5 years?

What would you have us do?

I'm not for isolation but it would do some good if the U.S. today took time in asking for some accountability of where and how the money is being spent.

Yes the U.S. do have bases as noted but it is also a fact we haven't taken over these countries they can say as noted " get out " but none have " and there is a good reason for it!

We can list all the pros and cons as to what a person or country you want leading the world I can tell you as an Chinese American who was born and raised in the States who's grandfather had everything taken from him and shot when Mao took over years later his younger brother in the Red Guard Revolution refused to renounced his beliefs was taken out and shot behind the head.

Here is how things works when you open up your country and ask and begged to join the world as China did, W.H.O. United Nation, I.M.F. organization that has assisted them to be the second largest economy there is something called play by the rules or guidelines they accepted the terms of the arbitration when it clearly didn't go their way they decided to pick and chose what they like or don't  which is clearly what China is all about today. What bothers me is there is only a handful of country that are willing to speak up or fight back.  This is one of the major reason when it comes to help and money U.S. should take an policy of monetary isolation.

Everyone has their hands out so anytime one of those countries that we have bases location say go home you won't have anything from me but when they do don't come calling again when the <deleted> hits the fan and that includes Thailand the country I now reside for over 15 years. In spite of all the U.S. faults even if I wasn't an American I wouldn't want China to be leading the world.

My opinions isn't about the people but the leadership of China, when you get over the cheap T.V. the are first and foremost a Communist regime pure and simple! I've study Chinese history as a hobby 40 years ago they had a chance to change the world and set an example for the rest of the world how things should be done instead the leaders choice was to get revenge that isn't leadership no different of those who want to blame the U.S. for everything the past and present wrong in the world. As an Chinese American today I'm ashame of what China is doing it not only hurts their own people it hurts every Chinese and Asian American in the U.S.!

I didn't vote for Trump but aside from his personality and big mouth personally I wish he had squeezed every socialist hand out countries more those are the countries who was scare <deleted> of him winning another 4 years who keep their mouth shut too scare to speak but as soon as he lost started pounding their chest as if it was going to increase their lack of fortitude.

I say anyone country want out just speak up I for one won't object but when you do don't expect help whatsoever stand on your two feet and pay your fair share and you won't hear any complaints from me!????

Well, the Philippines sort of said 'get out' and see how that's worked out for them.

The United States often sends ships and aircraft into the South China Sea to "flex its muscles" and this is not good for peace, China's Foreign Ministry said on Monday, after a U.S. aircraft carrier group sailed into the disputed waterway.

What a crock! Who stole the islands in the South China Sea? Who bullies Vietnam, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines? Good for the USA to provide some balance to China's aggressive expansionist mentality! Good for the USA to provide some protection to Taiwan against Chinese aggression!

Even worse, do some homework on what Russia's done over the past few decades.  How much land they've taken from various countries, hacked elections, etc.  It's stunning.

Yep, they also missed the fact that China had a lot to do with Pol Pot and his lunatics, so Vietnam basically saved Cambodia when they kicked the b-jesus out of the Khmer Rouge and gave China a well deserved kick up the backside......   Thank you Vietnam...... others stood by and watched without lifting a finger......

to cap it, my country, the USA supported Pol Pot after being booted. "An enemy of my humiliator is my friend" sort of thing
