CCTV footage showed the dramatic moment that a six wheel container truck was propelled onto its side after a collision outside a gas station in Chonburi

The driver of the truck that plowed into the container truck - Ekkarat, 21 - had to be cut out of his cab after his legs were jammed into the console. He was taken to the Phan Thong hospital in a serious condition.

Kewat, 28, explained that he had just filled up at the PTT and was crossing the road at the u-turn accompanied by other vehicles.

The accident happened on the Phan Thong to Ban Kao road in Ban Kao sub-district.

Did not appear to be speeding from that video, more to do with the clown pulling out in false hope!!

Then again maybe he wasn't busy sending sms but was driving perfectly safe on a road where HE had the priority and the right of way.

I guess the 21-year-old truck driver has discovered that a 6-wheeler loaded with concrete pipe just doesn't stop as quick as his girlfriend's Scoopy.

He was going too fast for the load he was carrying, hence the lack of ability to brake in time.

He was already pulled out and stationary.

Speeding along through a town with how many tonnes of concrete pillars in the trailer?

Having watched the video a couple of times IMHO the fault lies with the truck lying on its side. The driver should have stayed at the junction until the road was clear from traffic crossing in front of him as they have the right of way.

No matter how fast you believe he was travelling, nor what load he was carrying, HE had the right of way.

Exactly how fast was the truck travelling? Do you KNOW for certain?

The guy pulling cross the road should not have crossed and then stopped blocking the highway, thus setting the scene for the collision.

Obviously the truck pulled out  when it should have waited, but why did the other truck keep on  moving forward....  i counted 5 /6 seconds, surely enough time for him to brake to avoid the collision..maybe too busy sending  sms like many i see

Just another day of poor judgement. The pickup is wrong but luckily escaped.

Look at the photo. The pickup had nothing to do with it. The big truck blocked the road. The other truck had no chance anymore to stop.
