Meanwhile, the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration reported 959 new cases on Tuesday, the highest number in a single day since the virus hit the country last year. Of the new cases, 89 had been exposed to the virus by visiting high-risk areas. Samut Sakhon had the highest number of infections with 70, followed by 17 in Bangkok, one in Samut Songkhram and one in Ubon Ratchathani. Proactive testing led to the discovery of 848 cases – 760 foreigners and 84 Thais – in Samut Sakhon, and four Thais in Bangkok.
