One death, 819 new Covid cases in 24 hours, strict measures may be relaxed in some provinces

The Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) on Wednesday reported one death and 819 new cases in 24 hours, including 11 people who travelled from abroad, and announced it would consider a proposal to relax strict anti-virus measures in especially "orange-coded" provinces including Bangkok.

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand has changed the base years for its consumer and production price indexes to better reflect consumption and manufacturing amid the coronavius pandemic, the commerce ministry said on Wednesday.

All schools, except in Samut Sakhon, can reopen from Feb 1

YANGON (Reuters) - Myanmar launched a COVID-19 vaccination programme on Wednesday, with healthcare staff and volunteer medical workers the first to receive shots of the AstraZeneca and Oxford University vaccine donated by neighbouring India.

3 infected at DJ Matoom ‘super-spreader’ party kept attendance secret

Public anger erupted on Wednesday after it was revealed that three people who caught Covid-19 linked to a celebrity DJ’s birthday party concealed their timelines from authorities. The party held by DJ Matoom (aka Techin Ploypetch) on the January 9 has been dubbed a super-spreader event after it spawned two-dozen infections.

Dozens arrested for alleged involvement in We Tour Together scheme scam

Restaurants, pubs and karaoke bars may soon be able to operate in some form of normality with the Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) set to decide on easing more restrictions in Thailand.
