Leon Neal/File Photo LONDON (Reuters) - The sorrow of Britain's COVID-19 death toll, which passed 100,000 on Tuesday, was hard to compute, Prime Minister Boris Johnson said. 2021-01-26T174023Z_1_LOV000MQO6CRK_RTRMADV_STREAM-2000-16X9-MP4_HEALTH-CORONAVIRUS-BRITAIN-ROUGH-CUT.MP4 More than 100,000 Britons have died within 28 days of a positive COVID-19 test, official data showed on Tuesday. In an address from Downing Street, Prime Minister Boris Johnson discussed the heartbreak of the grim statistic. "It's hard to compute the sorrow contained in that grim statistic, the years of life lost, the family gatherings not attended, and for so many relatives the missed chance, even to say goodbye," he told a news conference. Popular Post jak2002003
What an idiot and how insulting to people who have lost loved ones to this virus. It's basically his fault that the virus is so out of control in the UK, through his lack of action at the beginning to his stupid policies of messed up on and off lockdowns and lax rules to prevent the spread. 11 1 1 1
Popular Post Natai Beach
From taking it on the chin, to walking around covid wards forcing everyone to shake his hand, to the absurd advice not to wear masks, no PPE for health workers, covid patients send back to nursing homes to keep hospital beds free, the tracing app rort for his friends, reopening from lockdowns at the first sign of a downward trend, bluster and never ending bulldust Spewing from his mouth. When Trump was still president Boris could hide behind him and didn’t look like the biggest idiot, but now with Trump gone Boris is a standout contender. He has completely mismanaged Covid, and looks like most him promises on Brexit were hollow or overly optimistic also. However he is very popular with the Brits, and if they want to vote for him, well that is up to him. That is democracy. It is hard to think of a more sure way method of contracting covid than his hospital visit apart from actually injecting the virus directly into the blood. Covid in the UK was never going to go well with his attitude. Plonker. 100,000 RIP 11 1 1

Popular Post Thingamabob
Four countries have suffered more 'with covid' deaths than the UK, several more will also shortly pass the 100k mark. The UK govt have clearly, and very sadly, got a lot wrong, but so have many other similar countries. Covid is a tough challenge, but hopefully vaccinations will provide some relief. 3

sammieuk1
Major mistakes have been made almost all with hindsight Boris has delivered on vaccine and funding so far but the poor will end up paying for it as usual . The real accountability should end up on Xi's doormat watch 54 days aired on BBC2 last night for the timeline of how this tyrant destroyed the world ???? 2 1

Kwasaki
. It's Boris's fault for not advising passed UK govt's to tell China to keep places hygienic. TV members here need to blame someone. What about the Black Plague being found again in China in 2020, it's Boris's fault. ???? I’ve put a pin in that, we’ll discuss again when the UK accepts downgraded hygiene and welfare standards in livestock destined for UK consumption. Meanwhile, if you can explain what part hygiene played in this pandemic? 3

Popular Post Stupooey
The countries which have coped best with Covid have been those where the government has taken immediate decisive action. The UK, US and a few others tried to downplay the threat at first, which allowed the virus to spiral out of control, and they have been playing catch-up ever since. It has not helped to have a populace who are resistant to preventative measures such as mask wearing, but the leaders should have set a better example. Bragging about shaking hands with everyone was not the way to go.

My favourite would be your favourite too, Dom Raab. But seriously, it would seem that Boris Johnson is reponsible for all the worlds woes, can't we have a pop at the Belgiums after all their covid rate is worse than Englands. Proportionately more people in Scotland have been dying of covid than in England, we never get a thread about that, I wonder why, could it have something to do with the media being a remainer media. The press want you to believe what their agenda is, it is not only disgusting, it is very frightening how these people manipulate other peoples lives, and sadly a good proportion of their readers believe their nonsense. I am just waiting for the next brake failure in Phuket to be blamed on Boris. Edited January 27, 2021 by vogie 2

Do you honestly think that Boris is the Devil Incarnate himself, why don't we get any balance, everything is down to Boris no matter how badly others do. But I'm sure it must help a lot of remainers to relieve their stress by having someone like Boris as their whipping boy, keep lashing Chomper if it helps you. 1 1

Do you mean the Prime Minister's Senior political adviser who endangered his family by driving 60 miles just to check he could avoid trees and other cars? Oh no - you have a pop at a very minor MP who happens to oppose Johnson rather than those MPs who have greatly benefitted (with their friends) by being awarded lucrative contracts for no apparent reason. Johnson and his collaborators have been spending way too much time working out how to make a profit out of this, rather than dealing with the main problem. 4
