Kaeng Krachan National Park shut until Feb 11 over Covid case

Kaeng Krachan National Park officials in Phetchaburi have closed the park to the public until February 11 after a confirmed Covid-19 patient was found to have previously spent a few nights there.

Plans for Patong electric bus service unveiled

PHUKET: Prince of Songkla University (PSU) Phuket campus has signed a memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Patong Municipality and several private companies to assist in the research and development of an electric bus service to operate within Patong, among other projects that are expected to generate some B200 billion for the island’s economy within five years of being launched.

Universities in safe zones can open up, says education minister

PHUKET: Police have arrested a former soldier for stealing food from a motorbike basket in front of a convenience store. The former soldier, who was wanted on an arrest warrant for drug use last year, said that he only wanted food for himself and his cat.

Local administrators told to cease legal action against elderly receiving state living allowances and pensions

Local administration organizations have been instructed, by the Interior Ministry, to cease legal action against some 15,000 elderly people who have been receiving both pensions and living allowances and to try to negotiate solutions which will have a minimal impact on them.

Chiang Mai and Loei to reduce fire Hot Spots down to 25% of last year

CHAING MAI (NNT) - Northern provinces like Chaing Mai and Loei are working proactively to reduce hot spots, hoping to get them as low as 25% of last year. Local residents and farmers were asked to make plans together for forest fire and agricultural burning.

Motorbike rider killed as alleged drunk driver wipes out

PHUKET:-- A 24-year-old man died early this morning (Jan 28) when the motorbike he was riding was struck by a car that had crossed the central reservation just east of the Sam Kong Intersection in Kathu. The driver of the car is believed to have been drunk at the time.

Phuket further relaxes required quarantine for domestic arrivals
