Photo: Eakkapop Thongtub PHUKET: The man who punched his eight-month-pregnant boss in the face on Wednesday after she told him that he had failed probation as a parcel delivery man has publicly apologised for “blowing a fuse”, but also said that he would file a counter-complaint against his former employer for defamation. Sutthiporn Thanarit, 30, invited reporters to his home at Phuket Villa 3 in Wichit today (Feb 5) to hear his explanation of the events that led to him punching Natthaporn ‘Fon’ Srithep, 23, manager of the Best Express courier service office in Baan Nabon, Moo 1, Chalong, in the face. Popular Post 4MyEgo 15703
Rather than get down and Kowtoe, he would rather respond with the threat of defamation, yep, there is that loss of face thing again, "I did nothing "wrong", she fired me ! Got to feel for the victim and his, no doubt, abused wife. Typical gutless scumbag. Edited February 6 by 4MyEgo

Bert got kinky 1177
From the full story: “Sunny” today played down a text message that she sent to Ms Natthaporn before Sutthiporn went to the office on Wednesday, saying in Thai, “I don’t think you will have a chance to give birth. Be careful, see you”. Surely he should be charged with attempted murder and she should be charged as an accessory. Sick couple.

Enzian 991
On a Quora forum I was giving advice recently to potential visitors to Thailand, and one thing I said was "Never tell anyone that they are wrong", and this story illustrates the issue. Even when it's true and appropriate and within one's rights or even job description (evaluating employees), it's best to figure out some way to be subtle when correcting or giving bad news to someone. Of course, with this guy I hope Thailand has advanced far enough that he gets some real jail time.

So he failed his probationary period as a delivery person [I won't use the term man] because he's useless, he gets told straight by the boss and he punches her in the face.... He wants to sue for deformation... ?

Ha..... so did I....forgot the Thai news is not reticent about publishing photos of the guilty.....or even those arrested and yet to be found guilty. I remember a few years ago....a French guy caught with an under age girl.......he is centre of photo and about 20 police, lookers on, cleaners, all stood in a semi-circle pointing directly at him...... Why in earth his wife is posing with him is beyond me. Edited February 6 by Surelynot

A superior must never raise his voice to an employee for fear of making him/her lose face, never correct them, just make suggestions. So I've often wondered what happens in the Thai military? Do they have drill sergeants like other armies around the world? Does an officer order the men, or does he make gentle suggestions so as not to cause a private to lose face in front of the other soldiers. For if he loses face then he'll sneak around at night and murder that officer for causing him to lose face....Is that how it works?

RichardColeman 30748
Interesting that the link says the thugs wife sent messages to the same women “I don’t think you will have a chance to give birth. Be careful, see you”, before he hit her. Seems the poor child has a right couple of idiots and thugs for parents

But hitting your 9 month pregnant wife? And he does not get jail!
wprime 1461
Send him to jail. "“I have to apologise, but people do not know how she spoke to me,” he said." If he thinks any words can justify such an attack on a pregnant lady he isn't fit to be a part of society and needs to be locked away for good.

That's true enough, I worked for a German car company who had a factory in Thailand, the German representative in the factory had enormous trouble with discipline and correcting mistakes in the production until he hired a Thai engineer as his representative and let him deal with the interactions with Thai managers and foremen, after that it was plain sailing, he never went to production meetings again just sent his rep and read the quality reports to make sure everything went according to plan. A fight broke out and one navie lifted my sister up by the scruff of her neck (she weighed 50 kilos wet) and was about to punch her when his mate called out don't do that Terry, you shouldn't hit a lady, so he threw her on the floor and kicked her instead, when she was released from hospital she saw the funny side of it, still laughs about it today. So, where does the line between defamation and facing reality go? Here it´s probably just that he is terrible at his work, and got sacked. That´s reality!
