The shirt of the guy on the right says it all. Born in the jungle, raised in the jungle, stayed with a jungle mentality. Education is the key but if you want to go into politics here, you must avoid education or get impeached.

Clean up the mess, get rid of the thousands of stray dogs and garbage piles everywhere, the shortages in utility supplies and offer something which attract Thais.

Difficult task, I know, as they want everything cheap cheap cheap, irrespective of quality and without 80% discount - no fly.

Good luck with that attempt, in theory correct, that more than 50% of the business anywhere should originate from their own countrymen but yeah .......

Yup turn Pattaya back into the little fishing village it was before tourists

started showing up. That will happen when Pigs fly with turbo charged

wings.  The next 2 years will likely see even some of the larger companies

close their hotels.  The city council would be a village council if it was not for the

tourists from the 80s until now, so be careful what you are wishing for you smart

people, your jobs may be on the next block to disappear.

And Disneyland should stop relying on people who enjoy rides and excitement .

Pattaya has no other reason to exist but to be a playground .

How about just passing enforceable littering and dumping laws . Vacant land owners ( big fines) should be firmly encouraged to maintain their properties . Clean it up , which costs relatively nothing and then move on to attracting new investment and improved infrastructure .

These uniforms and badges seem hell bent on running Thailand right into the ground at any cost.

Such is the dislike for anything remotely farang, they will be willing to do whatever it takes to keep everything as Thai as possible.

Even if that means decimating the economy and forcing millions into poverty.

It's YOUR country innit boys, so do what you like.

I think you overlook their love of China.....

It only analyzes the current moment.
Pattaya without foreign tourists 2020, 60% bars and hotels closed, high unemployment and people experiencing hunger and financial crisis $$
.
Pattaya with foreign tourists 2019 - open bars, crowded hotels, everyone earning money, tourist agency crowded with customers, thai people helping their families

Correct.

It will need a market correction in commercial rents here, which is passed onto the consumer (tourists) in order to lure the goose back to the nest.

A revision of the visa laws, particularly for snowbirds, would also help.

Before they abandon 30% of foreign tourism they had better shore up domestic tourism. Was this chinese new year weekend supposed to be attracting Bangkok Thais? Nothing even close to the Big weekends several months ago: no backuped traffic on naklua rd going to Lam-pho seafood market,  t21, the North Pattaya hotels from siam-siam, ozo, mercur, Amari. Only dusit had cars in lot.
