They said that these people had been busy cleaning their houses, as is their custom, and buying foods like pork, duck, chicken, fruits and various sweets and cakes. Last night they went to Na Klua Road and its sub-sois in Bang Lamung and found it brighter than normal and beautiful with red lanterns marking the occasion. Picture: Pattaya Update News They said that Thai/Chinese believe that the red lanterns will chase away bad things like bad spirits. Some even hang them in their cars to ward off danger.
