Social media went ballistic after someone started streaming a party in Walking Street, Pattaya, where Thai and foreign tourists were not wearing masks.

Condemnation was so rife that the poster quickly stopped and removed the footage - but it was too late - it was soon a St Valentine's Day "Maskacre" of negative comment.

TNN reporters hotfooted it to the area and found foreigners without masks milling about and going home at 2 am.

Partygoers were slammed for their irresponsible attitude without a care risking the spread of Covid-19, reported the media.

So where were the officials making sure emergency decree measures were in action and that bars were closing at 11pm?

Easy to blame the punters....

Gosh these dirty foreigners again.

Kind of.

Thailand has succesfully controled a pandemic and minimized economuc damage, all because its leaders made swift decisions based on science, and its citizens being smartand positive, and listening to profesional advice; wear a mask, wash hands, distancing.

So yeah, its a freakin slap in the face when these foreigners "again" think they are in Disney World and cando whatever they want to do without regards for other people and health safety.

Its dumb and selfish behaviour, in another country, the least expats could do is join the Thai netizens and condemn this behaviour.

I recall there was a local mask mandate in effect a while back, punishable by fines. Is that still on or not?

Well  I have not heard of it being 'cancelled'.... and I fear a policeman might chance his hand if you presented him with the opportunity.

Always be sure to have an "enemy" to push your motives and agendas....hence fake news!
