Covid quarantine is tantamount to a short jail sentence...Could you do it?

Assuming one could get a visa to visit Thailand, and had the funds, and with visiting reasons aside, could you face and actually endure a 2 week or so quarantine period? i have asked myself this question many times recently and would be interested to hear others' opinions and what one might consider doing to pass the time...............

If you can't do the time...

 

Hardly even remotely like a jail sentence.

 

Gazillions of trip reports, maybe 15% struggle but persevere.

Save yourself the hassle and expensive, wait until the quarantine and testing requirements are dropped in favor of vaccination passports this summer.

My hotel was fantastic with a great balcony and view. Also superb food selection and large selection of alcohol if required. For me it was all about planning a schedule. Breakfast 7am, lunch 1pm and dinner 7pm. One hour walk round pool and gardens eventually twice a day. Borrowed a set of dumbells and exercised for one and half hours. Gave myself a beginners one hour Thai language lesson each day. Books, Netflix, TV, laptop, emails with my office, office work, video calls and even games on my phone sometimes. Certainly not jail and I thoroughly chilled for the two weeks including sunbathing on the balcony!!

I call BS on the Alcohol, name the quarantine hotel.

What's 2 weeks in a hotel room?  In the U.S., my 92 year old mother is in an assisted living facility.  They had many Covid cases and a number of deaths.  They have been virtually locked down and confined to their rooms for months and months. It's akin to solitary confinement in a jail.  It's been maybe 6 months since I last visited her.  She's gone half-mad in the meantime.  A few times a month she manages to somehow launch herself out of the wheelchair and land on the floor. Life is tough all over.

Like a short jail sentence??? Really, what kind of cuddled with pillow world are you living in? Compare 14 days quarantine with a jail sentence in Thailand. if you consider that on the same level, then there is something seriously wrong. Remeber that they are making this out of a Thai perspective, which means that you must compare with Thai conditions.
