A foreign man who tested positive for COVID-19 visited a number of Hua Hin’s popular bars and nightclubs, health officials revealed late on Thursday.

The unnamed man, who lives in Suphanburi, spent four days in Hua Hin earlier this month on his way back from a week-long stay in Phuket.

Health officials said the man wasn’t displaying any symptoms and only took a COVID-19 test because he had been due to travel overseas.

Health officials have stressed the risk of infection to others remains small, but anyone who visited the locations at the same as the infected man and who has developed symptoms such as a fever, running nose, cough or a general feeling of being unwell, is urged to take a COVID-19 test at a local hospital.

well someone seems to have infected him

the focus on him infecting others is only half the issue

also - we have interprovincial travel now being encouraged - red orange yellow pink green all in the mix, if you had to think of one single thing to aid the spread across the country - unrestricted travel is right up there

this will be happening all the time, and has been for ages.

most of the people using bars, and most of the people working in the bars dont wear masks

the guard has well and truly been dropped, people very careless nowadays.

He will have passed it on to at least one girl, who will in turn pass it on to all her mates, which means a large amount of girls in 80 will have it now.

Its pretty obvious.

Hey ho.........what a pity, never mind.

Jeez, SHUT DOWN interprovincial travel already! Can it get any clearer than the case of this dumbazz?

Why was he a <deleted> ?  he’s been in an essentially covid free nation for a long time.

Given your sanctimony are we correct in assuming you have not left your accommodation for 10 months, haven’t been to a restaurant or a bar ?????

The only dumbazz’ I see / read are those making moronic statements such as the above.

Did not leave our mooban March 17 to October 22. Probably a bit too long. Came out for medical labs & docs' appts. Locked down again December 14 to right now. No restaurants or bars, little take-out. Groceries all online.

You can think I'm a sad case but I was a medical tech in hospitals for 12 years. Gotta know when to play & when to hold 'em.

Yeah, it's relatively safe in Thailand compared to bigger dumbazzes. We didn't screw up until the greedheads got us & paid the authorities for their help in avoiding quarantine.

Here's my opinion for 25-satang. Definitely no travel. Stay at home as much as possible. No groups, no indoor dining. Double-mask on public transit & in malls. Handwashing.

It's not so hard to keep yourself and others safe, is it? Stay home...
