Popular Post JTXR 748
For a year I had friends in the U.S. telling me how envious they were of me. COVID-19 raging everywhere there and very little here. Now, almost all my US-based friends in my age group are posting online about receiving their second Moderna or Pfizer jab, while here there's no telling when we'll even start. How things can change.... 6 1 3
Popular Post HampiK 794
I think if Thailand would have the same amount of dead persons because of covid, maybe they would also be interested in faster ongoing. But now even when your age almost all your friends received a shot, it's still more dangerous in US than here in Thailand. I am very impressed about how people always find something to complain. But of course it's the same as in the news.. nobody want talk about good things.. only always about something which they not like... 11 1

Popular Post Antonymous 2,944
So, if living in fear of catching Covid for a year wasn't enough, now they've had to take an experimental vaccine. Sheesh, double whammy. We are so lucky to be in Thailand. Tell 'em. 13 4 1 1

How things can change.... I begin to have the same feeling. It's still much better here than in the West But if they let the mutants in via Burma, or if they accept "vaccinated" (which proof?) tourists or tourists who say they staid in "home quarantine" before traveling..(there is another thread about this) If they let these into an immunological naive Thai population, we may still regret living here. And don't think that you get a vaccine in Thailand before 2022. 1

Popular Post impulse 21,103
Another big difference is that most of the expats in Thailand don't have to go out and make a living every day. Another way to say that is that most can't work in Thailand. Unlike most of the folks we left back home. If they could (and had to), the Thai restrictions would look a lot more onerous, as business after business closes down. 3
Popular Post mstevens 2,424
Same situation here in New Zealand. The media here has made a big point of reporting how bad things are in the UK and the USA (and by definition, how lucky we in New Zealand are) but now we see that those same countries are vaccinating at speed while we just started vaccinating yesterday with 70 - yes, just seventy - people vaccinated. The rest of the New Zealand population can expect to get vaccinated some time over the next year - and that is assuming everything goes to plan. When the UK and the USA are travelling and enjoying full freedoms again, we'll still be stuck here. 5 2
