Bangkok nightlife set to reopen as decision on restriction easing due today

The Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) is expected to announce further easing of restrictions today (Monday).

 

With the situation concerning the virus improving in most parts of the country, the CCSA is likely to approve a re-categorisation of provinces in Thailand, most notably those in the High Controlled or ‘red zone’.

 

The move would see 8 provinces, including Bangkok, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, and Samut Prakan downgraded to Controlled Area or ‘orange zone’, which is likely to mean that bars, pubs and restaurants would be allowed to re-open and serve alcohol. 

 

The opening hours of other businesses would also be allowed to be extended, providing  social distancing and screening procedures are put in place. Schools and educational facilities are also likely to be given the green light to re-open.

Elsewhere, the number of provinces listed in the ‘green zone’ are likely to increase from 35 to 54, while the number of provinces in the yellow zone will reduce from 17 to 14. Provinces in the ‘orange zone’ will drop from 20 to 8.

 

Only Samut Sakhon will remain a ‘dark red zone’ and under maximum control.

 

Meanwhile, the  CCSA  is also expected to discuss extending the emergency decree in order to continue to help control the virus outbreak and upcoming rollout of  the vaccine, which is due to begin on Wednesday.

 

The emergency decree is due to expire next Monday but is still needed in order to help contain the outbreak in Samut Sakhon and Pathum Thani, which has recently seen a spike in infections, Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam said over the weekend.

The emergency decree is due to expire next Monday but is still needed in order to help contain................................further expected protests against a corrupt, inept government would be nearer the mark !

Have they lost their minds? Pathum Thani is recording almost as many cases as Samut Sakhon, and some days more! Meanwhile, what has changed in Bangkok since they made it a red zone? It's still recording a steady trickle of cases every day and they've done no mass testing in the areas adjacent to Samut Sakhon and Pathum Thani, so they have no idea what's really going on in the populations in those areas. Get ready for the third wave (or is the the fourth now, I've lost count, lol)!

Give it up guys. Resign now. Your days are numbered. Scaring people with Covid may extend your toxic reign, but it will not stop the masses and the youth from despising you.

 

This was long overdue. Thousands of bars and clubs have shuttered permanently. Higher unemployment for a long time to come. A dramatic over reaction to a second wave the army could have contained, had they been competent and ready.

Yes, I am in total agreement about tipping the ladies. Be extra generous to these girls who have been 'hurting' for almost a year now.

I feel so much pity for these girls who make their basic living off of pleasing us and our generosity.... Overm the years I have known many of them personally and seen the 'home life' they came from.... NOW i have pity and try to be as generous as I can afford to help the poverty their government allows them to live in....

Soi Cowboy was absolutely dead just prior to the latest shutdown. Never seen less talent. Nana was far busier and had alot of talent. That was quite a surprise. A pleasant one.

They may be more inclined to add you on a Line app or FB messenger where you can ask to meet up or if they are available. They may notgive their phone number as they don't want  you calling when they are with  BF or family.

And why wouldn't he be serious, about what he said? It was spot on. I have met alot of working gals here who are kind, gentle, and simply trying to earn money in a way they see fit. Most of us cannot relate, on any level, to having a choice between working in Tesco, or another menial job, 50-60, and making $65-100 a week, if they are lucky, vs. the entertainment business, where worst case scenario they make two to five times that, and best case scenario they meet a well heeled foreigner, who takes care of them (and possible part of their family) for the rest of their lives. How does one even begin to judge that?

What did i tell you.....?   Miracle !  Overnight the 4th horseman just split town,  and the deal's on again  ...... The bit that's probably no surprise to anyone though is the Chinese vaccine........ As if we didn't predict that one......  Tells you who'se got hold of the reins now........  Mandarin classes anyone ?

Why would you want to torture yourself?  Landmark best - you can get a room overlooking the Plaza and Barclay's yourself to sleep
