The tourists, 59 in total, arrived via Indonesia on two flights operated by Indonesian national airline Garuda Indonesia. The first flight, with 13 of the tourists on board, landed at 8:20pm. The second flight, carrying 46 tourists, landed at about 11pm. The tourists - from the US, UK, France and Finland - will be staying at the Sri Panwa Hotel on the southern Thai island, reported Daily News. Print media reported that they will be confined to their villas for the first five days but then will be able to use the facilities at the resort for the remainder of their 14 day quarantine. Picture: Daily News The tourists arrived in two separate flights from Indonesia. The first group of 13 on Garuda International touched down at 8.20 pm while the rest arrived after 10 pm. They were met by deputy governor Phichet Panapong and Patong hospital director Meuanphrae Boonlom and disease control officials. Twenty five immigration booths were prepared so there was no overcrowding. After documentation and initial screening formalities were accomplished they were taken in convoy to the X-Terminal for Covid tests. Phichet said that the tourists were impressed by the safety measures and were already calling Thailand great hosts.
