Mega-drama! Main wife doesn't accept "mia noi's" apology - only hard cash will do!

If he hadn't been so stupid as to go through with a ceremony nothing would have happened, discretion is a soothing cream. I can imagine that his wife had known about the mia noi but apart from a few arguments at first it was it was quietly put into the background and there it would have remained. The ceremony was a slap in the face, an insult for all to see. His wife has been publicly humiliated, no doubt their mutual friends were there or knew about it. From a Thai perspective (and in many other countries) money is a way of getting her pride back.

Let us know when you've finished writing the book BR!

Hope it hits the shelves soon, can hardly wait to read it for a far better understanding of the cultural nuicances of Thailand.

I suspect the groom is a gold digger. Marrying the mia noi knowing she owns a gold shop.

Or maybe a pre-planned scheme cooked up by husband and original wife. Complete with mom-in-law playing the Academy Award winning act of hitting him. All eyes on the gold shop.

Somehow I wouldn't be surprised if this all eventually is revealed to have been an orchestrated, pre-planned scheme to shore up the battered family finances. You know...

- mia noi is a "gold shop employee"

- mia luang and MiL time their appearance perfectly just as the ceremony commences, and not a little early to prevent it from taking place altogether

- husband doesn't even bother to terminate the ceremony but instead creates as much noisy drama as possible to make sure it's all newsworthy

- mia luang only goes after mia noi while hubbie apparently is completely absolved of any wrongdoing

- the shady lawyer likewise only throws the book at mia noi but not the husband

- an apology offered by mia noi is bluntly rejected, although it could be surmised that she perhaps wasn't even aware that her groom was already married
