On February 19, the streaming service made the classic Jim Henson variety series available on its platform, including iconic characters such as Kermit the Frog, Gonzo, Fozzie Bear, and, of course, Miss Piggy. Now, the episodes come with a pre-warning for "negative depictions" of certain peoples or cultures in the episodes, which first aired from 1976 and 1981. There are 18 episodes carrying the warning, which according to Variety, include those fronted by guest presenters such as Joan Baez, Johnny Cash, Marty Feldman, Debbie Harry, Steve Martin, Spike Milligan, Kenny Rogers, and Peter Sellers. Phuketshrew 9,514
Disney+ just doesn't understand ......
Popular Post jesimps 7,091
What the .... is wrong with these Disney people? I'm certain the kids who watch and love the show don't give a toss about negative depictions. It wouldn't even cross their tiny innocent minds. This PC nonsense has infiltrated the minds of an awful lot of left-leaning people.
CrunchWrapSupreme 1,214
Low hanging fruit. Much easier to slap digital PC warnings on something, warning us about its lack of diversity, inclusivity, or some horribly offensive 70’s jokes we’re not allowed to tell anymore. They hope we’ll feel better about them caring about such things, rather than any real problems. You know, like those right next to Disney over there in California. Like the lack of jobs, the sky high rents, the ever growing homeless population that’s now mostly mentally ill and drug addicted, using the streets as their toilet, now rivaling any Third World country. But thank God we can switch on Disney+ and be comforted by their seal of approval, ensuring only the finest quality entertainment as the world goes mad.

thaibeachlovers 33,535
Disney needs to start putting out some decent movies, instead of harping on about things as they were decades ago. Plenty of entertainment in the 70s was pretty racist, but The Muppets? Give us a break.
Caldera 3,518
Awww. How very caring, these good folks at Disney make PC Principal pale in comparison. But will they pay me compensation for having to suffer through watching it WITHOUT WARNINGS during my childhood? I should probably sue them.

englishoak 9,591
Disney some time ago was bought out and has since been run by unimaginative coorporate idiots chasing market trends and their next promotion... its been trash since the mid 90s.
bangon04 2,041
Walt Disney had more than his fair share of accusations of bigotry and antisemitism over the years. Would he be turning in his grave now? or having a giggle?
