He’s under a number of investigations, each of which carry significant prison time, he’s facing a defamation case that will result in his DNA being handed to prosecutors and the only banks willing to prop up his failing businesses are deserting him. Why would the media not report on him, there is so much to report.

I seldom watch the cable news channels so I don't know what they are reporting, but the regular news sources I see don't give Trump much air time. The 1/2 hour evening news gave his Supreme Court tax situation about 10 seconds. His name was only mentioned once. The Texas situation got infinitely more and longer coverage followed by the engine failure on the plane. Even Kim Kardashian's divorce from Kanye West got more air time. The leading story and the longest segment was on the White House tribute to the 500,000 lost to Coronavirus.

It seems likely to me that Trump issued pardons for himself, his family, and close cronies which have not been published. There is no constitutional requirement to make a pardon public, so it's hard to see why Trump would have passed up the only chance he will ever have for the best pardon available. I would expect the federal courts to reject a self-pardon, but when it gets to the Supreme Court, it's hard to call.

Kelsall
A couple of points: - President Trump's tax returns have not been locked away in a cave somewhere, unseen by human eyes. The IRS has them and could have sent them to he FBI if they contained evidence of anything criminal. To the best of our knowledge, the IRS has not done this. - Rachel Maddow got a hold of one of President Trump's tax returns a while back. The tax returns were normal, ecept for the numbers being large. Not realeasing his tax returns may well have been the ultimate President Trump troll! 1

While you've made some valid points, you're missing some crucial aspects of this latest ruling. The DA is not only getting the tax returns, but more importantly, the underlying financial documents. Just looking at the numbers on a tax return doesn't answer all the questions. [In addition to the tax returns going back to 2011, Vance has subpoenaed four other categories of documents, including financial statements, engagement agreements, documents relating to the preparation and review of tax returns, and work papers and communications related to the tax returns.] [The records may be critical to the investigation because they are likely to contain documents that reflect the decision-making behind valuations and tax write-offs, which may be important to determine whether there was intent to commit a crime.] https://edition.cnn.com/2021/02/22/politics/supreme-court-manhattan-da-trump/index.html 6

The tax returns were normal, ecept for the numbers being large. Not realeasing his tax returns may well have been the ultimate President Trump troll! 1. The IRS are not permitted to release tax filings without a court order. Trump’s arguments against release have largely centered on tax filings being held by the IRS in strict confidence and not shared with other agencies. 2. Rachel Maddow received some of Trump’s old and incomplete tax returns, they clearly indicted cause to believe he had committed tax and/or banking fraud. 3. Trump’s failure to keep his campaign pledge to release his tax returns was not a troll, it is an example of his bare faced lying and your willingness to accept his bare faced lying. A point you miss, either because you don’t understand it or you hope nobody else does, is Trump’s tax returns do not sit in isolation, they exist alongside other financial documents Trump has signed; Bank loan applications, Insurance contracts and financial guarantee contracts. If the declarations in each don’t match there is the highly likely result of Bank/Insurance and/or tax fraud - all Federal offenses that earn significant prison time. The IRS, in isolation, has no view of this broader picture, prosecutors now have access to all this information and here’s the good news - They have the right man to understand it all and bring charges for crimes committed: https://www.businessinsider.com/manhattan-district-attorney-hires-mark-pomerantz-mafia-prosector-investigate-trump-2021-2 5

The IRS has been investigating Trump for a long time. It's a problem which they admit. This is due to his massive losses, which are being disputed. The head of the treasury decides how to handle investigations. A political appointee. So forget anything happening the past 4 years. It will all come out soon. Just wait. And read the NY Times for the best reporting.

I would be surprised if there isn't one. trump is a litigious person, he has made a living out of taking people to court. other than BS he is really not good at anything else.. One of the most important strategies in US litigation is to outlast your opponent. A pocket pardon might not survive constitutional scrutiny, but it would serve to delay verdicts as challenges and subsequent appeals find their way through the courts. I would see no reason why trump will not deploy this tactics, it would be like leaving money on the table, and trump being a sociopath, and having no shame, is completely transactional and would not leave any more money on the table than he has to.
