The mayor of Pattaya has said he will put forward a proposal for the city to become a quarantine zone or so-called travel bubble in order to help boost tourism in the city.

He can yell, scream, plead, beg, cry, sob  and it ain't gonna do no good.

It's a situation of "is it the chicken or the egg first"

Right now, none of the above, unless most of the world is vaccinated, cases are way down, people have some extra cash in their pockets and a vaccine passport

Otherwise forget 'bout it!

Mayor of Pattaya proposes building a bridge to the moon to attract tourists. After all, he reasoned, the moon is Covid-free, so it's an obvious source of alien tourists to stimulate our economy, though we will, of course, require vaccination passports from them.

I was wondering how long it would take to come up with this proposal.

not sure people living here would agree

Health is more important than a small group of people wanting to profit from this debacle

That's subjective depending on how high up the food chain you are.

Here we go again.  Another idiot with another "travel bubble" proposal.  Why doesn't somebody propose an"idiot bubble" where all of these idiots could go and live together ?

That bubble would have to match the same size as the inactive post one.

I've never seen it but it must be visible from ISS

The mayor of Pattaya has said he will put forward a proposal for the city to become a quarantine zone or so-called travel bubble in order to help boost tourism in the city.

Speaking to Sophon Cable TV on Tuesday, Sonthaya Khunpluem said he wanted everyone working in the tourism or entertainment sector in Pattaya to be among the first to receive the vaccine.

He said the move would help Pattaya to become  an “area quarantine” and would help to build confidence with locals and visitors.

He said that people in Chonburi would start receiving the Chinese made Sinovac vaccine which is due to start being administered later this  week.

Chonburi had been a designated ‘red zone’ following the new wave of infections found in Thailand earlier this year, which is why it is being prioritised in the first stage of the vaccine rollout.

The province was later downgraded to an ‘orange zone’ and on Monday the CCSA confirmed it was further downgraded to a ‘yellow zone’.

Mr Sonthaya said he intends to present his proposal on Pattaya becoming a quarantine area or safe travel bubble to the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA).

That miserly 200,000 doses of Sinovac arriving on Wednesday are being made to go a long way.

From the PM, to people in Chonburi
