How can you justify your words when you have absolutely know idea what transpired. Perhaps you should take up story telling for a living.

Siam Chon News reported what they said was a very bad attack on a foreigner that would tarnish the image of Pattaya as it begins its recovery from the pandemic.

 

At 2 am today a 24 year old Chilean national called Salvatore C. reported to Pol Capt Phuttarak Sornkhamhan that he had been attacked by a motorcycle taxi rider in Walking Street.

In tears and speaking through an interpreter the victim who was covered in blood said that he had left a club at closing time and wanted to continue partying in Soi Bua Khao. 

 

But he was set upon and another motorcyle taxi rider brought him to the police station. 

 

He was treated at the station by Sawang Boriboon foundation medics before being taken to hospital. 

 

Police went to the scene of the attack and found bloodstains.

CCTV footage showed a tall and well built motorcyle taxi rider in a jacket sitting with the victim.

 

He then got up and slapped the victim in the face twice knocking him over. 

 

What Siam Chon News described as a merciless attack then continued with the "win" (taxi rider) kicking the victim in the face multiple times. 

 

The victim did not fight back at all.

Police are trying to find the assailant.

 

The media said this was terrible for the image of Pattaya with the government trying to promote tourism post pandemic.

Update: Pattaya police arrest motorcycle taxi rider after vicious attack on Chilean man

A contingent of Pattaya police led by station chief Pol Col Phisit Phoonsap arrested the motorcycle taxi rider responsible for attacking a Chilean man earlier this morning.

 

Salvatore C., 24, was left bloodied with a broken nose after the Walking Street assault at 2 am.

 

Amorn or "Jiap" Bunmee (who had changed his surname) was arrested at his house in Soi Bon Kai at 10 am and taken to the police station.

 

Taken into evidence were a "win" (motorcycle taxi rider) jacket and his clothes. 

 

The victim, who had earlier been taken to hospital, was being sought to do some much needed identification in the form of pointing, reported Pattaya Update News. 

 

The motive for the attack is still being investigated.

Definitely not merciless attack. He has done something to offend the taxi driver. 
 

robbery’s not a motive either as you can still him with his phone

I don't need to justify pointing out that we don't know what the tourist said.

 

And when you reach the part where I posit a 'what if' he had said something that most people on TV regard as a hanging offense, understand that clearly I don't know what he said either, nor am I pretending to know, but that we should at least consider that it is possible that he said something unconscionable.

Why would it matter what he said. He couldnt speak english so i doubt the guy could understand him anyway.

unfortunately his way crossed a violent thug working as a motosai

 

My advices for both of them

 

1\ the young chilian should stop to being drunk

particularly when he is in a foreign country and he is not able 

to talk the language or at least some english

 

2\ the motosai should find another job, if possible not

in contact with the public, or at least with drunk foreigners

IMO based on history, if the fight escalates he wouldn't be fighting just one Thai, several more of the taxi drivers would jump in just because it's Thais against foreigners, they don't care about why they're fighting. I'm not proud of the fact, but I have first hand experience with this. In the western world we have this idea of one on one, not in Thailand.

Being annoyed is no justification whatsoever to brutally assault someone. I'm surprised he didn't come up with a better story. Locals should be aware that he'll most likely be able to continue in his chosen profession.

The other concern is he was leaving a disco or a bar at 2 am on WS

when the closing legal hour for all the venues was supposed to be 11 pm (Midnight since yesterday)

nothing new here but now the ''public'' attention (Including the ''boss'' in Bangkok) has been driven on it

I am suspicious of this whole thing. I think some gay stuff is involved. The Chilean guy strikes me as gay. Just a hunch.
