BANGKOK (NNT) - The Cabinet has approved a draft agreement between Interpol’s National Central Bureau for Thailand and the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) on direct access to Interpol’s information system.

Government deputy spokeswoman Ratchada Thanadirek said the agreement aims to enhance efficiency and cooperation between the Thai Police and Interpol in various countries in investigation, prevention and suppression of international crimes.

Under the agreement, the DSI will be able to access nine key Interpol databases including stolen and lost travel documents, stolen administrative documents, international child sexual exploitation images, the Illicit Arms Records and Tracing Management System, the firearms reference table, and the Interpol’s Criminal Information System.

The agreement will take effect within 30 days from the date of approval by Interpol’s secretary-general and after it is signed by both parties.

if it can be used for the elephant ticket corruption scheme than by all means they should join interpol.

The government should take this matter seriously, because billions illegally gained money went into this, should be traced from the origin and recovered. Certainly they were laundered through foreign banks.

Project involved the highest officials
