Thai media Daily News caught up with a member of staff at Thailand's oldest national park, Khao Yai in the central region of the country.

Sutthiporn Sinkha, 56, had been featured on Facebook working alone in making sure the traffic was stopped and a wild elephant was led to safety.

Park chief Adisak Phusitwongsanuyut said that dedicated teams work on the roads in the park to make sure that everyone is safe.

There had been an incident recently when a tourist's motorcycle and a staff vehicle were damaged.

Sutthiporn said his salary was low and he didn't have many benefits but he was happy with his work.

He had been at the park since 1999 and did his best to keep the elephants and the tourists safe from harm.
