From what ive read its somewhat similar all throughout much of the world..

Australia being the worst of course,

locking down a capital city the size of Melbourne for the sake of 2 people infected. <deleted>?

AND wont even let citizens leave the country.

complete madness.

But wait see, once a few countries start opening up fully,

even the staunch ones like Australia wont want to be left behind at the bite of the tourism apple.

I know im going against the grain here,

but im predicting some positive leaps and bounds in the next 3 months if this thing is containd more.

If not, people are gonna really revolt in certain places and politicians will be running scared when groups have had enough and start going after individual decision makers personally.

There's only so long you can completely trample on peoples freedoms and liberties.

Got that right mate.

Australia has completely lost its mind...

What is he talking about? The border is already open!

How did this German tourist get into Thailand recently in the first place when he doesn't have a job, a wife etc in Thailand?

This guy is definitely a short term tourist. Just a cary on luggage. Who would come for a few weeks and spend 15 days in quarantine. On top, how many people, having family in Thailand have difficulties to return to Thailand, having wife, probably children, house, car etc...

Yes, he's quite right.  Really, testing negative in a 14 day period is the only safe way.  Covid 19 vaccines primarily prevent serious illness.

Only when the majority of people in Thailand have been vaccinated can international tourism be considered.

So both you and this doctor is telling us that the independent positive and ongoing published research in Israel and the twenty million vaccinated people here in England who have positively contributed to the lowering of infections and death from Covid is a load of rubbish, Really?

The late great guru Wayne Dyer said..

"the opposite of love is fear" (not hate).

Its only logical you cant talk sense into people who are trained to be gripped in fear, since they chose it

Its all to powerful.

Futile, in the same sense as trying to reason with someone madly in love.

A medical person has taken it upon himself, perhaps with the blessing of the the powers that be, to enlighten us about opening borders. Looks to be no other way but to vaccinate the entire Thai population before a SAFE re-opening can occur and large scale tourism can resume.

Are we looking at mid 2022 now, or is that too optimistic? :whistling:

We are looking at 2027 before anyone should start thinking about vacations ..  thats if the contagion comes under control this year, or the Chinese don't ignite a war in the SCS.

The AZ vaccine is preventing 95% of hospitalizations in older people in the UK 4 weeks after the first dose.  If Thailand can vaccinate it's older and at risk folk then there is justification for opening the borders again, but not until then.  I'd say 25 million people need the jab and the rest are at very low risk of succumbing to serious illness from covid 19.  If the population is substantially protected it doesn't matter who you let in, but to be on the safe side a negative test might be advisable from South Africa for instance.

The most salient feature of all these vaccines is that they prevent serious illness and death.

It appears from real world data that the AZ vaccine may be outperforming even the Pfizer vaccine in this regard.

Genocide ?   you sure thats the term you meant ? :whistling:

YES, and I am not alone in saying this given the 2.5 million deaths from Covid that we know about, which because of non reporting by several large population countries around the world could very easily be two or three times that number.

Respectfully if you are a denier or nay sayer of these published truths I pity you for your ignorance.

Respectfully oou sound a little over dramatic to me.

imo its over exaggerated not under and cases are hugely inaccurate.. eg; In UK anyone dying within 28 days of a positive test is logged down as a covid death regardless of how they die.. even if they fall out a window. Numbers dying of influenza or other rhino/covid strains the past year has gone to virtually zero... numbers dying overall in  the past year has not increased but mostly the same over 12 mths period in most countries... some laces have seen a jump but nothing big plus regions expected to have exploded have not .. Africa A America. Central Asia, none of the data is backing up the wild claims.

Do the research on the data. its out there if you bother to look.

...You completely ignore the fact that  the widespread infection means regular medical care delivery stops in countries where there are disease  control protocols. Covid19 spreads like wildfire in hospital and this means that  surgeries and general procedures cannot continue.  ...

I know a guy in the U.S. who was horribly burned last year.  He's been in the hospital for 4 months.  Skin grafts, sores, a bit of a stroke, pneumonia and then he got Covid which complicated his care plan.
