Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha and Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul are due to receive their first COVID-19 vaccine injections this Sunday, at the Bamrasnaradura Infectious Disease Institute, according to Dr. Sophon Mekthon, chairman of the COVID-19 vaccine management subcommittee.

He did not give any details about which vaccines, from China (Sinovac) or from the UK (AstraZeneca), will used to inoculate to the two ministers, but said that both have been approved for their efficacy.

For the general public, vaccinations will start on March 1st.

"For the general public, vaccines will start on March 1st".  No, they won't.  Not for the 'general public'.  No way.  Not with so few doses and two needed.  They'll all go the generals, politicians, hisos, hangers on, and, maybe, hopefully, if any doses are left to the health workers at risk.  Look who are getting the first two jabs:  the PM and the Health Minister.   Way down the road in June the 'general public' might finally get started--if they can get the factory up and running.  A big if.

Well that flies in the face of studies done overseas concerning the efficacy of Sinovac. 50% at best.

So we already know which one the PM is going to have .... he stated his age was a concern so would opt for the AstraZeneca

the PM won't be getting astrazeneca on Sunday, some paperwork missing, or such.

Sinovac will start rolling, over 2 weeks after planned date (14th the valentine day).

AZ is now an unknown future. Because it's not from italy, but from korea, it must have yet another approval. That's thai laws, the finest example, why feudalism doesn't suit contemporary country. Nobody bothered to check this many weeks ago, when making an emergency switch from one producer to another. They had plenty of time to do so.

https://www.thaipbsworld.com/thai-pm-postpones-vaccine-jab-indefinitely-due-to-technical-problem/

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha’s planned injection of AstraZeneca vaccine, scheduled for 7.30am on Sunday, has been postponed indefinitely due to a technical problem.

An official, attached to Government House’s spokesman’s office, said today that the Disease Control Department of the Ministry of Public Health had notified Government House of the postponement, which is due to the lack of letter of certification from the British pharmaceutical Company, AstraZeneca, covering the first shipment of 117,600 doses to Thailand.
