xylophone
8 minutes ago, Sheryl said: Many off topic posts have been removed. For the last time: OP does not have reflux! Op does not have bloating! He has pain in chest area which he thinks is gastric in origin. Please stay in topic and stop talking about unrelated problems and what you take for them. If you want to discuss reflux, hiatal hernias., bloating etc etc please start a separate thread for it. With respect Sheryl the OP does mention "heartburn" and as you said in one of your posts, there are many interchangeable terms. Also when he took ranitidine, it helped and as that helps neutralise the acid, that could be another pointer. Also, reflux doesn't always mean that the stomach contents can be felt in the oesophagus, as mine never were and all I got was a burning sensation with no regurgitation or what one might call reflux. So perhaps leave the thread open and see what transpires, because as has been mentioned, he doesn't really know what he has, so nor do we, but posters are trying to help. xylophone
Anyway the OP has said that he has got enough info now, so maybe taking "off topic" posts away is a moot point now?
Popular Post owl sees all
1 hour ago, WildBillHiccup said: I was diagnosed with a 'Hiatus Hernia' back in the UK and since then (some 25 years ago) I have been suffering from the symptoms – (at times very painful) – and I am of the opinion that when you have got an acute Hiatus Hernia it is for life with NO 'cure' ..... only 'relief' brought about with medication. I was prescribed "NEXIUM esomeprazole 20mg" tablets (AstraZeneca).and I found that these tabs did the trick – (not cheap here in the Land of Smiles) – but effective nonetheless. https://www.google.com/search?client=opera&q=HIATUS+HERNIA&sourceid=opera&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8 When a (serious) attack occurs take two of these and then 'be still' for maybe 45 minutes sipping water from time to time – but your first recommended step is to seek professional help at your local Hospital. If it costs (say) ฿1,000 for a consultation, then it is money well spent (imo) to get your problem professionally diagnosed. Some unfortunate people have acute problems of this nature. There is a growing body of thinking that do not agree that all 'things' are irreversible. Obviously, if something is missing, or irreparably damaged, it is not always possible for the body to repair itself. Such would be the case where a finger was cut off in an accident. But generally, the body is able to repair itself, and return it to a normality. We have been conditioned over the last 100 years to think that medicine is the answer; be that pills, ointments, powders, injections and much more. The great majority of these 'cures' are nothing of the sort. They simply are a medical chemical reaction to a symptom. Rarely is the underlying reason for ill-health tackled by medicines. In fact they often create more problems than they ease. The body if medicated then to deal with another toxin that has just entered its domain or terrain. It's worth knowing that there are roughly 42,000 prescription medications in the US and there is constant ongoing withdrawal and replenishing. Some do not sell well and are withdrawn. Some are preplaced by an version that might be more effective or make more money. Some are withdrawn 'cause they are downright dangerous. However; the 42k figure pales when compared to 300k medications that are available over the counter. Big Pharma is fundamentally in existence to make money. This being said, how can one address a problem such as heartburn? The answer lies in the body itself. Eating well is not nearly enough (although it helps). It is equally important to keep toxins and poisons out of the body. This starts with understanding how chemicals that are used on the land find their way into our bodies. Clean drinking water (probably the biggest cause of death throughout history is contaminated drinking water). And then there is medications; in all their forms. My advice to you WBH is to drop ALL medications. Re-assess your diet; big time. Drink only good quality water and cut out all unnecessary additives. Try my remedy with ginseng and ginger or if you prefer something out of a bottle to help then: But; please do not be convinced that your complaint is irreversible. The body is a marvelous bit of kit, evolved over thousands of years to protect itself. 2
Sheryl
the OP has clarified the nature of his symptoms and it is NOT reflux. Since people refuse to stay on topic, the thread is closed. Hopefully the OP has gotten what he needs. If not, please PM me. Those of you itching to post about reflux, bloating hiatal hernia etc etc please start your own threads.
