There is an old saying in medicine that “the cure may be worse than the disease.” The phrase can be applied to vaccines. In the current paper the concern is raised that the RNA based COVID vaccines have the potential to cause more disease than the epidemic of COVID-19.

Brilliant. so because Astra Zeneca Thailand did not issue a certificate and the Korean one does not suffice means the approval is void. Exactly what we need as there was not enough  time before by the super experts to prepare. You sometimes can it should only scratch your head and take a deeeeepppp breath ????

That is because, much like the leaders of this country, the plumbing is inadequate and not up to the task!

Postponed indefinitely ....that creates a lot of confidence for the Thai population,

how long would it take them to get the proper letter of certification from AstraZeneca,

never it seems....will they dump the 117,600 doses

regards Worgeordie

I think he put all of the AZ on hold until the vaccine is manufactured in Thailand for their own benefit. My question is who do they plan on testing it on if at all???

His Chinese masters friends objected to him using the Az jab perhaps?

And yet they'll have no hesitation to inject the Chinese muck into the citizens. We'll be seeing Thai's growing two heads, four eyes and talking like Dr Who Flung Dung. Sheesh.

Without any additional information, how do you determine that this documentation issue was down

to incompetence or inefficiency? There are 2 parties involved here and surely Korea has to supply

the correct documentation with the consignment, and this issue would not come to light until

the goods arrive in the country.

I know I won't be winning any POTY prizes with my stance, but quite frankly darling etc etc.

In the case of this administration, assuming it was the other guys fault, is quite a leap of faith. Especially with a health minister, the likes of Anutin, and a PM, the likes of Prayuth. To suggest they scraped the bottom of the barrel, when the selection process took place for leadership, would be a vast understatement.

...meanwhile, almost 30% of the UK population have have their 1st dose of vaccine. Either Prayut is afraid of the vaccine, or there isn't actually any vaccine here, or he just wants to prolong re-opening the country to pesky foreigners and keep Thais under restrictions for longer. What else could the real reason be?

The longer the ASQ goes on, the more money goes into very important pockets.

So how is a certification for South Korea different from a certification for Thailand? Some bureaucrat pencil pusher is creating a public relations disaster, which is going to make x number of people nervous about getting vaccinated...!

And why was the South Korean vaccine manufacturer able to get up and running and export this before the Thai manufacturer can even test the elevators?

It appears to be the case. Yes, it was the Thais who said the paperwork was inadequate. Appears to be due to total incompetency on their parts, especially the woefully unprepared Anutin, who has been in so far over his head, this whole time. Having someone lead the response to a pandemic, with no health background whatsoever, is like asking Brittany Spears to lead the technological side, of the mission to Mars.

Or asking Brittany Spears to sing a song.

Thai PM postpones vaccine jab indefinitely due to technical problem

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha’s planned injection of AstraZeneca vaccine, scheduled for 7.30am on Sunday, has been postponed indefinitely due to a technical problem.

An official, attached to Government House’s spokesman’s office, said today that the Disease Control Department of the Ministry of Public Health had notified Government House of the postponement, which is due to the lack of letter of certification from the British pharmaceutical Company, AstraZeneca, covering the first shipment of 117,600 doses to Thailand.

He explained that this particular shipment came from South Korea. Although there is a letter of certification from AstraZeneca, but it was intended for South Korea, it will need a documentation from AstraZeneca specific to Thailand.

Chances are are that a private company of kahki people bought it for resale on the black market and in a few days they will say it was condemned, neat little earner that one.

That makes more sense than what I thought: the Thais and their infatuation with superfluous paperwork.

Imagine Xi's reaction looking at Prayut's photo- op, getting jabbed with the farangs' medicine the first chance he can!

Good luck with that. AZ sent vax to SK, intended for SK. Why would they now create docs after the fact, for a transaction involving SK and Thailand? If this really is the reason for the delay, then Thailand is showing the lengths they will go to shoot themselves in the foot to get all the paperwork, needed or otherwise, in a file before anything happens. Classic Thailand. At least you have to admire the consistency!

Clowns of the worst type; it fully explains why this guy and his cohorts could not run a chock raffle.

You would think giving the extreme impact COVID has had and will continue to have on Thailand these clowns would have prioritized the end to end vaccine program.
