rooster59
Gen Prawit orders lasting solutions to water issues in the south Praphorn Praphornkul BANGKOK (NNT) - At a meeting of the Southern Border Provinces Development Commission, Deputy Prime Minister Gen Prawit Wongsuwan, has expressed concern over the cycle of flooding and drought and ordered relevant units to develop plans to remedy the situation. The commission heard a report on sustainable water management in the southern border provinces. Gen Prawit responded by instructing all relevant agencies and units to draw up water management plans for the region accounting for flooding, runoff and drought, pressing for concrete solutions. The DPM also called for an urgent solution to the spread of a disease affecting rubber plants in the southernmost provinces, which has taken a major toll on the area and the revenue of its citizens. In aid of Thai laborers who returned to the south due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Gen Prawit ordered the Minister of Labor to take the lead in finding effective solutions to their plight, and for the Southern Border Provinces Administrative Center to coordinate with the office on the matter. -- © Copyright NNT 2021-02-28 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates

connda
Solution: Hire a Dutch company with experience in the field. Thailand has demonstrated that it has neither the expertise nor the ability to address these issues. Draw up plans? Yeah right. Dry season in Thailand southern border provinces started mid January, with February the driest month. Might see some rain from May onwards depending on the strength of the southwest monsoon. The main wet season comes with the northeast monsoon, October to December.
