Thailand sees at least $10 billion investment in industrial east this year

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand expects investment to triple to at least $10 billion in the country's industrial east this year as investment projects previously held by the coronavirus outbreak get pushed forward again as the pandemic eases, an official said on Monday.

Thailand’s Tourism and Sports ministry will propose that the Public Health ministry organize an inoculation campaign in 5 tourism provinces and discuss the prospect of vaccination passports.

First 35,000 Doses of Vaccine Sent to 13 Provinces

BANGKOK, March 1 (TNA) - The first 35,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccine were distributed to 13 provinces and no severe side effects have been reported among recipients so far, said the spokesman of the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA).

NEW YORK/LONDON (Reuters) - Bitcoin rose nearly 7% on Monday as risk assets rallied after last week's bond rout cooled, with Citi saying the most popular cryptocurrency was at a "tipping point" and could become the preferred currency for international trade.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States is focused on "future conduct" of Saudi Arabia and will expect Riyadh to improve its human rights record, a U.S. spokesman said on Monday, after Washington imposed sanctions on some Saudis for the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi but fell short of sanctions against Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
