Thailand reported 35 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday.

As has been consistent with cases during the new wave of infections in the country, most were discovered during testing of migrant workers at quarantine facilities and hospitals in Samut Sakhon.

Of the new cases, 25 were local transmissions, while 10 were imported from people entering quarantine.

63 people were discharged from hospital having made a full recovery, which is significant as there are now less one thousand people being treated for COVID-19 in Thailand.

541 people remain in hospital or held in a migrant worker quarantine centre.

No new deaths were reported.

Wednesday’s cases bring the total number of COVID-19 infections in Thailand to 26,073, with 84 deaths.

Cut and paste. In fact there were 7 migrant workers and 5 Thais. 12 in total in SS. This is not most.

I was expecting a surge for at least a month before the vaccines arrived, but the numbers are so low with the vaccines just being rolled out.

So I would imagine we won't be hearing of COVID after 70% of the population is vaccinated, just COVID passports for everyone wanting to enter Thailand or any other country for the forseeable future, shame that, especially when everyone would have reached herd immunity.

I doubt the controls will be lifted, but we can hope, can't we.

1 of the 3 cases found in Bangkok was a Briton, the other 2 Thai.  So now it has filtered into the expat community it appears.  Wonder how long the Brit has been here in country, and whether or not they are a recent transplant that had passed through quarantine.  A little more info would be nice.
