snoop1130
Economy must come before politics in Thai Cabinet reshuffle, say experts A man wearing a face mask walks past a closed restaurant in Bangkok on February 15, 2021, as Thailand records it worst economic performance in more than two decades. (Photo by Jack TAYLOR / AFP) Business leaders and academics insist solving Thailand’s economic crisis must be the top priority in the upcoming Cabinet reshuffle. “The new ministers should also be highly competent and capable of pulling Thailand out of the middle-income trap,” said Saowaruj Rattanakhamfu, senior research fellow at Thailand Development Research Institute (TDRI). Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha is set to reshuffle the Cabinet after three members – Digital Economy and Society (DES) Minister Puttipong Punnakanta, Education Minister Nataphol Teepsuwan and Deputy Transport Minister Thaworn Senneam – were sentenced to jail for their role in protests which led to the coup that ousted an elected government in 2014. Wow, calling out the big man, and stating the obvious in order to get the elephant of corruption out of the room. However, that's just my opinion.

Popular Post spidermike007
Imagine this administration ever putting a position, any position, before politics? It would never happen. It is all about power, and it is never about doing the right thing, or doing good for the people of this nation. And some things are worth never, ever forgetting. The second wave is the fault of Prayuth and Anutin, as much as the vast spread of Covid was the fault of Trump and his team in the US. Had Prayuth and his team been on the ball, a local lockdown would have happened in one section of Samut Sakorn immediately, when the outbreak happened, and it would have likely been fully contained. The nation would not have had to endure a second wave, and domestic tourism would still be kicking strong. This all happened due to sheer stupidity and stunning greed. Thailand is really going into a world of hurt now. Tourism will not recover for years and domestic tourism just died. Millions of jobs lost. Prayuth has zero credibility, on any level. He is stunningly incompetent, and has long overstayed his welcome. And now, he has failed the nation miserably with this second wave, which could have easily been avoided, had some precautions been taken by locking down Samut Sakhon province immediately, and rooting out his bad apple immigration guys, on the border. There is no saying the extent of the corruption in this administration, but the army is not exactly known for integrity. He must step down, or be removed. He is a toxic force, and a dinosaur. The youth is right.

mtls2005
Not that the MoE can really achieve anything, but an Edumacation Minister with some education experience - other than going to school when they were younger - might be a plus? Oh, and pro-tip: stop beating the kids.
