The Pathum Thani COVID-19 cluster has, so far, infected 676 people across 13 provinces, as Thailand records 35 new cases today, according to Centre for Covid-19 Situation (CCSA) spokesman Dr. Taweesin Visanuyothin.

He said that most of the infections linked to Pathum Thani markets, such as Pornpat, Suchart, Simummuang and Rangsit, are vendors, their families and those who came into close contact with them.

According to Dr. Taweesin, the cluster is quite big as it has spread to Bangkok, Khon Kaen, Chainat, Phetchaburi, Nakhon Pathom, Nakhon Ratchasima, Nakhon Nayok, Nonthaburi, Samut Prakan, Saraburi, Ang Thong and Ayutthaya, and must be contained as soon as possible.

Looks like they need to start testing like they did in Samut Sakhon and test in the areas it has been found in on a wide scale basis.  However, that's not what they are doing or going to do.

If they are not testing how do they know its spread?

Your answer? The majority are being found by hospital walk ins.

Not true. They are doing community testing. I've seen the medical truck not far from our house.

They are also testing sewage water constantly. If the virus is detected, they go into that area and tes.

Fact, more are being found by hospital walk ins than by pro active testing at the moment and has been that way for over a week.

If it's a fact, I'd be happy to read the article please as I find that surprising, got a link please?

You have no idea then?

Nope, just like they don't.  Test and ye shall find, no test and well, your guess is as good as the next guys, sort of like TAT's numbers they spout weekly.

I am not quite sure that all the new cases are from " Hospital Walk ins ".

But I am pretty sure that most of the testing will be concentrated on Migrant Workers, as the Thai Health Authorities seem to think that these are the only people that can contract Covid for some reason.

Yes look at the daily stats published daily by CCSA and also contained in the daily threads. Example, yesterday 35 cases found by hospital walk in cases and only 4 found by pro active testing, surprised yet?

4 proactive case:

Pathum Thani 3

Bangkok 1

35 “walk-in” hospital cases:

Tak 4

Nakhon Pathom 1

Nonthaburi 1

Pathum Thani 5

Samut Sakhon 24

They are doing contact tracing, tracking and testing

Which makes complete sense for a concentrated outbreak.

His point is they are doing a great job.

I'm quite aware of what "his" point was. Hence my reply. However thank you for your help and input as you must have thought my comprehension was lacking.

Thanks for the information Brian, i just added the part that you omitted, that there have only been 85 deaths in over a year. This is on the CCSA briefing every day and I guess missing it out was an oversight on your behalf and you were not ignoring it.
