Popular Post webfact
Health minister warns of third COVID-19 wave as fewer Thai people wear face masks in public (File) Thailand’s Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul Thailand’s Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has expressed serious concern over results of a recent survey indicating that people wearing face masks in public has fallen from 90% to 80% percent in just a month. He said today that this risks a new round of infections, as he urged everyone not to lower their guard and to continue to wear face masks every time they are outdoors. The minister also displayed an international certificate of vaccination, which he said will be issued to everyone who receives the vaccination, so it can be used to apply for a passport or visa or to show that they have been vaccinated and are safe. Petey11
At least he preempting the blame on Thai population this time. Strange Thai blame Myanmar for covid wave, Cambodia blame China, Thailand and Vietnam, Vietnam blame Cambodia and China, yet all report very low rates of infections. Me thinks that there is something amiss with the figures. If all have such small numbers of local infection what are the chances of passing it into each others countries.

Popular Post Oldie
I just read in a newspaper that cannot be named that Songkran festivities will be allowed this year. Also the nightlife is allowed already without any masks and social distancing. Not sure why the health minister is still talking about precautions. 2 1

Same-same as yesterday when CCSA spokesman and doctor both pleaded from continued mask use while NOT wearing masks. I get the communication issue (muffled), but just speak clearly, use Thai subtitles.

Why look, they already had one of their own medical doctors give a fake vaccine to fellow Thai troops in the Sudan. Don't have to go to far from Thailand the hub of fakes to see this coming in greater quantity as we move forward.

Curt1591
In my neck of the woods I see more/most people wearing masks, and actually wearing them over their mouth and nose, than early on.
Jimbo2014
Well if weed man would worry less about making and selling Covid Vaccines and more about purchasing decent ones to inoculate all of Thailand.... perhaps this wouldn't be an issue any more.
poskat
considering the very low death rate from infections on a per case and per capita basis, thailand would be better served by just letting the virus run its course here and stop with these clampdowns every time an outbreak/flare up occurs. this would allow for the herd immunity effect to shut covid down here. 1 1

AlfHuy
"people wearing face masks in public has fallen from 90% to 80% percent" How many Thai mathematicians were busy to figure out how much 80% of X is. Probably a special task force, crunching the numbers for weeks.

Only when there are large temple-gatherings, majority of attendants wear them (but nobody is refused that doesn't). If I recall well there has been 1 (ONE) positive covid-test in the province where I live (many months ago). Glad I am living here, with all that fear-mongering madness going on in some other parts of viritually covid-free Thailand. 1
