USA - NON-O 3 Month retirement online Visa application.

Recommended Posts

Hello,

a friend of mine would like to get back into Thailand from the US. He is thinking about to apply for a NonO - 3 Month based on retirement Visa first.

Now he has to apply online for the Visa application under: https://thaievisa.go.th/

I can't find any information about the requirements for the NON-O 3 Month based on retirements on the website and I have no experience in it.

I read here and there that you need a state pension to get a NON-O 3 Month Visa based on retirement?

Because he don't have any state pension but he could proof that he have enough money in his bank account. Would that be accepted too?

Thank you very much

No financial proof is mentioned on the embassy website to apply for the visa.

See: https://thaiembdc.org/2020/11/17/nonoretirement/

If needed on the e visa site he could upload a bank statement to get past that point in the application process.

Another option would be enter visa exempt to get a 45 day permit to stay that can be extended for 30 days. Then prior to the last 15 days of the 45 days or the 30 day extension he could apply for a 90 day non-o visa application.

To apply for the visa he would need 800k baht in a Thai bank on the day he applies with proof it was transferred from abroad.

OP, as usual ubonjoe has outlined your friends options.

With all the other things required to enter Thailand currently, I would opt for the enter Thailand visa exempt..

One small thing is does your friend have a Thai bank account. Reason being is the timeline. Already having a Thai bank a/c would give him a head start.

A non-o visa based upon retirement is on the site but the wording for it may be a bit confusing.
