Popular Post British Consular Team
Last week we posted an important update about Covid-19 vaccines in this thread and also on the UK in Thailand Facebook page. We will keep you posted on further information about the roll out of vaccinations for foreigners in Thailand. You can also sign up to get an email alert when our advice is updated. Here's what been happening in the office: - since our last update, the team has dealt with 31 urgent cases, including deaths, hospitalisation, welfare, and arrest and detention; - Covid-19 is still a big focus for us. As well as continuing to discuss the provision of vaccines in Thailand, last week we managed to help secure accommodation in the UK for two vulnerable British people returning home; - we also had a customer who only spoke Chinese but thanks to one of the Embassy receptionist’s language skills, we were able to provide the customer with a great service; - further improvements have been made to the new version of our booking system. In the past two weeks, the team has provided 68 notarial and documentary services. The majority of these was affirmation of marriage. The booking system is not perfect yet, so if you need an appointment and are having difficulties using it, let us know. To end our update for this week, we thought you might like to see a picture of the British Embassy crest in the new Consular waiting room. We rescued it from Wireless Road. A bit of history: it’s a variant of the arms used by members of the Royal family and by the British Government in connection with the administration and government of the UK.
