John Tank
Does anyone have any experience of obtaining an English teaching or teaching support position with a TEFL certificate but no degree? Was a work permit obtained? I read it is possible but there is nothing as good as relevant experience. Thank you.

Preacher
Without a degree you can not legally teach at a regular school as no work permit and teaching waiver will be issued, but you can get a job at a tutoring school.
brewsterbudgen
You'll most likely find some places that are willing to hire you, but you won't get a work permit, so it's a risk. It's easier to teach in Europe where they value a decent TEFL qualification like a CELTA or Trinity, rather than a degree in any subject. Here's a recent job available in Poland: Qualifications - Must be a native speaker OR possess native-level fluency (Cambridge C2 or IELTS Band 8.5) - ANY NATIONALITY - Must have TEFL certification or equivalent (or be willing to obtain) - Must be highly outgoing and social - Prior teaching experience is highly preferred but not required
