webfact
Thai caption: Cop kills girlfriend, suicide attempt fails//Sanook Sanook reported that the mood was somber at a cremation ceremony for 35 year old Summita yesterday. She was shot dead by Trang police sergeant Apichart near the Chaiya Intersection at a gas station on Route 41 in Surat Thani on Sunday afternoon, an earlier report by Sanook suggested. Apicart turned the gun on himself but survived and is now recovering in hospital. Summitta was the eldest of two siblings and had been a mainstay of her family putting her younger sibling through school. Her mother Ampha, 61, said that she had had a relationship with the Trang policeman for three years. About a year ago she had gone to his house in Trang where he exhibited aggressive behavior and slapped her. She went home to her mum and they both agreed that she should leave him - but she didn't, even after a meal where the three of them got together to decide they should end the relationship. She said that her daughter was a sales lady in pharmaceutical drugs and would often go to the coffee shop in the course of her work. The policeman arrived from his home further south and picked a fight with her, she said, and though she begged for help and tried to get away he went after her and shot her dead. Sanook said in their headline that the cop had tried to kill himself. He was now out of a coma and out of danger under police guard at Surat Hospital. -- © Copyright Thai Visa News 2021-03-16 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates

Popular Post ALLSEEINGEYE
2 Thai cops caught killing their wives in as many days. Why does Thailand need the RTP when they seem to be committing most of the crimes???!!!

KarenBravo
Police follow the same rule as MP's. Those that want to become a policeman are the least fit to be a policeman.
Popular Post ThailandRyan
To start with I just have to say that I am truly appalled at the abuse GF's/Wives/Women take in this country and even in other countries. I think that these types of actions are just plain horrific. To take someone's life, and then to try and take yours because you know you f'd up and don't want to pay the piper shows a weak individual who cares only about themselves. Having someone who is suppose to protect the citizens murder someone shows a psychological imbalance. I wonder if the RTP give their officers mental health training, or even test them prior to hiring them to see if they have a deep seated Psychological issue that might affect them in their jobs. I wonder if they avail the officers and staff of free counseling services so they can reach out when they are having a mental breakdown or personal problems related to the job and how it is affecting them. I know it does not always help and sometimes people do slip trough the cracks, as can be seen in other countries where this also happens, but it seems to happen here more so in my view of living here for many years. The RTP and even the Military folks seem to even fire of their weapons indiscriminately after getting drunk and recently have also shot a noodle vendor, killed a subordinate or a supervising commander over issues that had they been given help for may have been prevented. However, the one thing that things like this always come back to in this country at least is FACE. Time this country gave up on the FACE issue, and stopped being made to loose status when they have either embarrassed themselves or someone else Sorry is a word I rarely hear here. Feelings seem to get hurt very easily here and cause major issues. Folks need to put the past in the past and move forward and not live in the what could have been mentality and admit they made a mistake or things just did not work out. The recruitment process involves the submission of a thick pile of small, brown documents which are divided amongst the senior officers and painstakingly reviewed to determine their quality and sufficiency. 4

I seem to recall that that is indeed a large part of it. Families scrape and save to try and get at least one member as far as the 'exams'. Useful to have a cop in the family. The quality of even traffic cops is really beyond the pale ... I have witnessed (masked, long before Covid) extortion on highways, and was told by one cop a helmet wasn't needed for me to ride a motorbike.
